Don't get the game, it's crap and it shits on all the prior Homeworld games that came out. AI is dumb, pathfinding is horrid, the franchise staple cut scenes are replaced by some crappy ugly DEI crap, the story is all about a megalomaniac catfight, and then everyone kisses and makes up in the end. It is complete and utter trash.

Homeworld is still probably the most atmospheric RTS game ever made.
I'll watch and like the video but, this game has like 43% score on steam, everyone dunking hard on the game. It doesn't seem as good as Tommy says, sadly. But, I'm happy he enjoyed it.

Seems like it's an ok to good game but not a good Homeworld, which is why everyone is shitting on it. They threw out the good old simple story with concept art cutscenes the series ALWAYS had and replaced it with a much more character driven story with cgi cutscenes. And what I've seen of it myself it's a pretty cringe story too.
Why they did this is kinda baffling considering Blackbird stayed true to the originals in their Deserts of Kharak prequel. They had to know they'd piss off the fans with this.
The Story and the game overall leave much to be desired... sadly.... 😥

Although I understand the disappointment of the old fans, the game is not bad. It's just not near as great as the predecessors.
While the mediocre campaign can not really be fixed, I do hope that they will work and flesh out the game over time.
So basically, maybe buy the game in four years or so for 15 dollars.

The game is literally a downgrade from prior titles, simplified damage systems, pathfinding and AI is garbage, and it is all about spamming. It's shit, it looks pretty, but that is because it wears the dead skin of the prior titles with a graphical upgrade. You're better off playing Homeworld 2 with mods.

Story in this game is so bad compared to the weight and feel of the first 2. And some other minor changes that are just bad.
Cataclysm and Deserts of Kharak were also good and stuck with the story and the unique Homeworld formula we've all come to love and cherish, Homeworld 3 is shit, gameplay wise and story wise it is a massive downgrade.

Even tho the game might be eh. Ppl realize Tommy is a human he needs to make money. And plus for him this game felt good he didnt monitor what was promised or what was ment to be added. You would rate this game good too if you were sponcored.
Is this game as bad as the homeworld community makes it out to be?
It is the only ''Homeworld'' I have anything bad to say about, story, gameplay, ripping of multiple missions from prior titles, abandoning the unique Homeworld flavor in both story and gameplay, it is all about spamming units, and it is some awful DEI crap. It ticks all the boxes for a decent ESG score, but it has nothing to do with Homeworld other than stealing the name and reputation undeservedly.
I cannot recommend enough against buying it.
It's alright, it's just not a good Homeworld game. Think of it like Fallout 4 was to Fallout New Vegas.
