At the age of 69, I missed two questions. These test keep my brain functioning. Thank you
tests
At 68 I missed two.
At 71 I missed two
@@douglasharris5216 good on ya doug. i think the 'old guys' could teach the young ones a thing or to. (sorry, i think it might be two)
I also got two wrong . Occurrence and affect … I’m 74
The test would have been harder if you asked " what is a preposition "
Ok, that got a giggle out of me.....yep, you are so right!
Ahahaha, true
*The test would have been harder if you had asked “What is a preposition?”
@@daviddarcy-ewing6185 Ewwww Grammar Nazi a know it all, lmfao.
I couldn't tell you but I did well with the questions. I graduated in 1967. Many many years ago.🙃
Just what does identifying animals have to do with knowing English?
That was my question, too! I got 100 percent, but that section just didn't fit, in my opinion.
My exact thought too.
Yah,sometimes, when you're talking about that animals etc.
I also don't understand that section.
to see how much you actually know lol
👉English is not our native language but i got a perfect score👍
👍
Where are you from?
@@fathimamusthaq5006 Philippines😎
Well done.but u prob speak it well anyway.
So??
I think this test is for people who are learning English. Lovely English accent.
U re so clever that u understood this test is for English learners...
100%. Whew! It should be so, since I’m a teacher of English as a foreign language (though I haven’t taught in almost two years).
💐💐💐
I have a photographic memory so I was very good in spelling but appraise vs aprise had me confused.
This quiz was very interesting for me!
I got 18/22, because English is my second language and I need more practice!
Thank you very much, teacher,
for this practices opportunity!
I will repeat this quiz many times.
I will promise you!
God bless you!
Thank you very much for being here, Agapi Hanialidi
I did awesome, but I was a teacher for 38 years! However, the questions went tooooooo slowly! I almost quit after a few questions.
I also did awesome. I left school with no qualifications because I hated school. They taught me nothing I needed to know in high school. Learned to read and write in primary school. The rest was a waste of time. I home schooled my children. They are multi lingual from spending many long holidays in Europe. Home was Scotland.
Agree…too easy and too slow
You could have watched it at a higher speed. I changed it to 1.25
I love doing these! It puts me right back into school as a kid again.....good memories! Thanks for the fun!
Glad you like them!
i've got just 3 mistakes! now i feel more confident
👍
I got all spellings Wrong..
😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
I'm Very Bad at Spelling...
😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
@@haroonmushtaq1287 I highly recommend just writing out sentences. They made us do that in school so we wouldn’t screw up the words.
@@haroonmushtaq1287 I got all spellings right, you just have to exercise more and then you can do it. No one's born as a genius (except me lol)
I think this would be a great learning tool for young children. They need to learn as much as possible while they're still young.
👍
Wow! I’m 80 years old and I still have it. I had every question right!
Well done, Rosalie Beckwith
Hey are you on Instagram? I want to talk to you please help me
Really done well in the quiz under reference.
Islamabad Pakistan.
Greetings to Pakistan.
I surprised myself and got them all correctly. Guess this old brain is still functioning.
👍
Joy if you chose badger & aardvark you missed 2 answers, sorry not bad
Wow! You are really appreciatable person
I find your statement funny cuz the word "correctly' is not correct English. You should be saying "I got them all "correct".
@@ahorsewithnoname5702 Good catch
Animal number four is actually an Impala - native to South Africa, where I live. English is my home language and I would have been shocked had I not got 100% - thank you.
Yeahh no wonder it looked different, I couldn’t see the horns properly to know if it was a Gazelle or not
@@justbeingfia I think it’s an impala…I go to the bush regularly and they are incredibly common, they even graze inside the camps. Another of our buck, the Springbok, is similar, and that is a type of gazelles - without seeing the horns clearly, and with colour possibly not being true to life, it’s hard to be sure - you are right 🙏🤷♂️🌺🌺
I am 78. I got everything right except for two animals which I have never seen before.
Nice result, John Fleming. Thanks for being here.
2 mistakes in prepositions; 3 mistakes in confused words; 1 mistake in spelling; 2 mistakes in animals. Many thanks❤
That was a lynx, not a bobcat. The tufts on the ears are a giveaway.
I agree with you on that.
Bobcat
the picture does not give a true indicatation as to either, bobcat or lynx, lynx is the cat family name and one species of the lynx is a bobcat, what you need to consider in this question is the other two answers, which it is clearly not either of those. you have to give the answer bobcat.
@@Flo-qf1hi I think we are saying that the picture is wrong for the choices of answers.
My father used to say "ending a sentence with a preposition is something up with which I will not put"
It's possible to "effect a change" (verb)
I got all of them correct. Wish I could do as well on some of the other knowledge quizzes.
I just so so, I need more practices ~
Thank you for those teaching !!!
You're so welcome!
Seriously? Drunk 66 yo Norwegian here. Nailed it!
Nailed it. This was easy for me.. Also my Mom always told me I was a genius. IQ 140. No, I'm not conceited. I'm convinced. Be your own cheerleader and have a high self esteem. YOU ARE INTELLIGENT, SMART AND BEAUTIFUL.
Congratulations on successfully completing the task! It's great to have confidence in your abilities and to feel proud of your accomplishments. It's also wonderful to have supportive parents who have encouraged and believed in you. Believing in oneself and maintaining a healthy self-esteem can be valuable for personal growth and well-being.
It's important to acknowledge and celebrate our strengths, intelligence, and inner beauty. However, it's also important to remember that intelligence comes in various forms and can manifest differently in different individuals. It's great to embrace our unique talents and qualities while also recognizing and respecting the strengths of others.
Encouraging and uplifting oneself is indeed important, and it can create a positive mindset. At the same time, it's valuable to extend that positivity and encouragement to others, fostering an environment of support and collaboration. Together, we can celebrate the accomplishments and strengths of both ourselves and those around us.
14/21😊...Maybe i need to practice more
Hmm I think there are total 22 questions...
You are giving questions and specific definitions
Thanks

I appreciate that. Cheers!

Extremely well, getting them all correct, although I don't see how knowing the names of animals you may never have seen or heard of is a test of English knowledge.
Also difficult because several of those animals are only in the continents of America.
2 mistakes! This is good exercise🤩
Thank you for liking, Rajamah Hassan
I hated test when i was a kid, but I’m enjoying these. Didn’t do very well with the spelling. Went to a parochial school. I used to be very good at English. My favorite thing was to dissect a sentence….which one was the verb, noun, adverb etc
Thanks for sharing!
Interesting n very informative
Literally , 50% correct
You need some practice.
I GOT THEM ALL RIGHT 🙌🙌
Actually I can’t believe it, but I’m proud of myself. Best of luck to all.. these are fun and a very good way to keep your brain sharp! Maybe a little bit harder on some.. but not too hard!

Well,go ahead 😄😄
Interesting.....Good
100%...cool 😎....the granny is on a roll!
Well done, Joan Dondero
I got 14 I need to study more. 😊
Nice work, thanks for being here.
Affect and effect can each be used as either noun or verb depending on the context. The answers to the animal questions are all "yes" or "no" as the questions ask "CAN you name ..."
100%
You're wrong. Affect is always a noun & effect is always a verb. Give me an example.
@@barbrn oh dear ...
He was a happy person whose affect was always cheery.
I would like to effect a change in your knowledge of English grammar.
@@barbrn Affect vs. Effect

Alice E.M. Underwood
· Grammar
Affect and effect are easy to mix up. Here’s the short version of how to use affect vs. effect. Affect is usually a verb, and it means to impact or change. Effect is usually a noun, an effect is the result of a change. Watch out! There are certain situations and fixed phrases that break the general usage rules for these words.
@@debbierowley9596 Thanks for reminding me of that. It's just not a usual usage.

Thanks for sharing.
I was good but in animal section l lost all points....thank you for this kind of quizes.!
You're welcome 😊
Livia: should be ....thank you for these kind of quizzes or this kind of quiz.
got them all right except the "affect" vs "effect" one. That one has troubled me in the past, and still can't seem to get it right
The trick is to remember that affect comes first alphabetically, and an action (to affect) has to occur before you can have a result (an effect).
I still have trouble with it, but I try to remember them as effect (currently happening) and affect (a result of something that happened in past reference). For example, ‘chemo has powerful effects’ and ‘I was affected by the murder of my mother.’
I believe 98% of Americans don't know this either (I am in the 2%). The word 'impact' has annoyingly and incorrectly replaced 'affect' in a lot of uses.
If my dad wanted to cuss but we kids were around, he would say "Ah, manifest no further visible apprehension"
Good for new non-English Canadains.
I find it very funny that despite being a native speaker, I still got half the spelling ones wrong lol
I'M 77 - MISSED ONE
Yeah, the two I missed were spelling! Gads! So annoying, I was cooking there until the spelling!
I’ve been speakin it almost my whole life, and I still messed up-
