My first big spend was on a Calumet 16, which i enjoy very much. For anybody about to buy their first "splurge" bottle, try it at a friend's house or bar or watch a review by a WhiskeyTuber with a palate similar to yours. Cheers!
Not for the better. At least for me so far. I’ve found out I’m not an oak fan or a rum finished whiskey fan. I do like bold spicy bourbons and I’ve always been a rye lover and I enjoy the old style rye’s that are now finding their way into the forefront. I know I’m not an overly sweet whiskey fan just not my profile. But bold and proofy are my go to bottles. I’m a big fan of overproofed whiskey. The best I’ve had is a single malt out of California that came in at 153 and drank like a 50abv whiskey. I can say that having been drinking for over 40 years it was the best whiskey I’ve ever tasted. Great list and I’ve had all of these and agree wholeheartedly. Enjoy!!
St George Baller killed nosing for me. Also changed my mind on branding. This bottle has a Japanese samurai thing to it. Making me think of Japanese whiskey. I nosed it and had an impression in my mind. After sipping it and finding it was very bitter the nose and palate didn’t match. I had searched long and hard for this bottle too. After such an experience, I don’t want to nose whiskeys anymore. I don’t want to be biased.
I like your videos. Straightforward no fluff. Under 10 minutes. Perfect. So many other videos have gotten ridiculously long with nonsense
I was never really a JD fan until they started putting out the barrel proof. Amazing how good it is even above 130 proof.

Feel the same way about JD single barrel barrel proof. Great video
Haven't had it. Keep hearing similar words. Gonna have to get one.
My rye evolution started with Michters. Now I just bought their barrel strength rye, and it is delicious.
