    RACISM Unveiled - Northern Cities You Should Avoid
    Hidden Hatred: Uncovering Racism in Northern Cities
    This video is made for educational purposes.
    When it comes to racism, the south gets a bad rap. To be fair, there was slavery and legal segregation until the 1960s, so they do need to own up to their past. But does that mean the north is exempt? There was actually slavery in the north, although not to the scale and duration as below the Mason-Dickson line. But that doesn’t mean that the north, which prides itself on being a liberal utopia, is exempt from the wrath of this list. In this video, we’ll look at towns in the north that have made headlines for racism and anti-Semitism. We’ll look at different racial groups and how they’ve fared in the north.

    It was so different in the South because due to its sordid history, I expected the southern states to be very racist. I found out that the white people in the Southern States were much nicer than I expected. Even a white woman in a store let me use the store phone (before cell phones were out) and walked off and did not give it a second thought. I made my phone call to AAA, got my road side service and I thanked her and that was it! Any racism I saw was within the military and it was third hand, none of them said anything crazy to me directly. I spoke my mind because I don’t play that racism comments or none of that! I didn’t care about rank when it came to that. But I have witnessed it when it came to UCMJ action being a Paralegal in the military. The Flint water crisis was because you had people cutting corners to help themselves had almost nothing to do with race. I could see it being racially motivated if the cities politicians were white but there not. Not saying Flint hasn't had its racial issues but the water crisis was not a good example of this. Rust Belt is racist af . Espically Ohio Michigan Indiana Pa , However no matter what race you are its a depressing discusting place to live with depressing discusting stupid people . The plains wing of the Midwest is a teeny bit better . MInneapolis does not belong on this list . It has superior race relations than any Midwest City . Heck its up there with Seattle Portland and Denver with tolerance .

    Great information. The younger generation moved North, not many of the older generation felt it was necessary. The old people felt moving North was a trick and a fantasy of younger generations far removed from slavery. It was written The South suffered from Carpet beggars after Reconstruction. The North was more about competing with new Americans coming to the country. for jobs and housing. I think most don’t understand descendants of American slaves never had many Allies beyond Quakers, a remnant of Native Americans a remnant of Methodist and the Episcopal churches. Later more of the Christian church served as well. Mostly persecuted Protestants. They call it the Jim Crow North, possibly worst than the South as less blacks in the North owned housing, land, and businesses. An old black man once said in Mississippi at least he owned his own land and a little shack. Migrating north he had a decent job, but not a home. Many younger black generation moved North and buried more of their fsmily due to drugs and crime and fast pace of urban areas.

    • @Iyiaksemlar4
      @Iyiaksemlar4 Před 3 měsíci +3

      Detroit had racial problems very badly in the 60’s and earlier. I could even say part of the seventies. All of it came to a head when we had the ‘67 riots and the Algiers Motel incident. In my old neighborhood, it was mostly Jewish back in the ‘50s until black families started moving in. From the automotive industry, many from the Greatest, The Silent Generations and older Baby Boomers had jobs in the Auto factories making GOOD money! The whites and Jewish moved out to the suburbs while Detroit’s demographics started getting more melanated. Everyone was driving nice cars and living in mini mansions including my family. We still had some problems still but not really bad ones since the riots. Then came that Bussing issue which started all over again. When we got our first Black Mayor Coleman A. Young, there was some animosity between Wayne County and Oakland County’s L. Brooks Paterson. I left Detroit for the military and haven’t returned until 2012. The whites and blacks pretty much get along now in the city from where I can see. Now Oakland and Macomb Counties, there may be a few who can act a fool but I’ve haven’t had any issues thus far. Detroit really isn’t as bad as some of these other cities in the North.

    Milwaukee to control minority movement to the suburbs is the only major metro area in the United States that doesn't have rail on their mass transit.
    All buses that don't link with the suburbs of Wakesha, Washington, Ozaukee and Racine counties where the jobs are at. Just one route that goes to the city of Brookfield in Wakesha County at the mall. You can access the Wakesha buses thier but there are no routes to the major employers.
    All by design IMO. You can access these jobs only if you have a car or work for a temp agency that charges you $10 a day to take a van.

    I try not to use the word "racism" too much. A racist is someone with a deep-seated dislike of people who are "different," and I don't think most Americans have that mindset. I'd call our cities "systemically discriminatory," but not racist.
    Of all U.S. cities, I tend to think of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, as the least "racist." It has a long history of ethnic diversity, opposition to slavery, upward mobility for African-Americans, and efforts to improve race relations.
