It has already been done, this is not the first of its kind. Single caliper brakes are powerful enough and weigh much less. But it is still a great project
Mate if it could be fitted to a surly Wednesday I'd buy one. I tour on my bike. The standard brake setup is ok unloaded. Going down a mountain in Japan with 120kg on it 😮
Wait. So the stroke of the standard brake lever is not designed for the fact that it needs to pump twice the volume of mineral oil. How was it decided?
Hi Paul, I really like and can appreciate the design and work to build this duel disk brake setup. I am in fact doing something very similar on a fat trike converting to a Quad. I was told by several bike shop mechanics that I could not hook up two calipers on one hydraulic hand brake and you have proved you can do it.... Bravo my friend! I was wondering if you could tell me where you purchased the tee that you are using on this setup? Also... I am assuming you are also using a standard Shimano hand lever.... Is that correct? Thank in advance Dave
Hhhmmm my initial thoughts were 'Will the stock master cylinder push enough fluid for 2 calipers'.... I guess it does but its close to the bar looking at the video.... Wonder if a Shimano Saint lever for the 4 piston calipers would help ? The Saints are dual size pistons but it should have a larger fluid flow.
Yes, similar thoughts. The lever will end up very soft with a lot of travel… but if the builder is ok with that, I’m sure it’ll work. I’d probably be thinking of modifying the master cylinder or designing a new one.
@@paultinwell5557 You couldn't actually do that. If you made the master push more fluid you would be negating all the force multiplication from having 2 calipers. You would still have all the complexity of this system with only the power of the original brake. The only gain left would be better heat disipation but that's it. Also, that problem doesn't even come up. If you ever bled 4 pots you noticed that the lever initially does come all the way to the bar, but after pumping it a few times, the system automatically adjust and it feels like any other mtb brake. Maybe with a bit more dead stroke tho, but that doesn't matter since you set the reach on the lever for when the brake is actually engaging. And since you brake by lever force and not by travel, I at least don't even notice it.
where did you find the T connector? Also where did you find that needle bleeding screw? I cant find them anywhere? I believe that you should start selling the whole assembly as a bike accesory!!!!
OMG , I only think about it doubles the maintenance time, what is the dual disc brake advantage? except left/right visual balance, maybe left right weight distribution could be another.
I would say having twice the mass for heat is nice. You could shrug off the same speed for twice as long. Maybe if you are stopping at crosswalks alot like i am the extra caliper could help ease the extreme stresses and even make the pads and disc last relatively longer.
It is possible to get stronger braking power from a single disk than twin disk set up depending on rotor sizes and brake pad material. The biggest advantage is better heat dissipation, and the coolness factor is off the charts.
Wow, beautiful build! My fat ass tired bike needs this mod! Please provide details! Where to find right-side calliper, mounting bracket, etc.?!?!? The single 160mm x 2.5mm (thick) is simply insufficient (and unsafe) at shaving off speed on fat tire e-bikes.
Yes nice...kindly updated me...instead for using a T-type brass copper one to connect a t-cabbling ...its better to use a threaded one in avoidance with the unplugging of the cable..im so very much awaiting for your videos brother🚲🚲🚲
Incredible execution. This could be very innovative for downhill racing

It’s an overkill brakes mod but what an amazing build for sure it’s an awesome brake power! I like 👍 it!
😲Great mtb video! Keep improving!
I’ve subscribed to your channel a while ago 👍
Serious engineering... Need one of these for my ebike.
Your cycle is amazing bro
So cool looking, but what about the stroke/volume difference? Does this not lead to more brake rub?
How cool is that building your own brake calipers thats awesome men 👍🏻
it's fun :)
Qe pasada de frenos te as trabajado...me encantaría tener unos iguales para mí ebike
You Are A Brand Pauk X Salute😍
Do you think this can be use in s E-bike high velocity? I mean the caliper holder for dual brake option ,regards .
Nice 👍 I wanted to try. Bout I don’t have both disc brake mounted
where did you get the adaptor for dual? do you sale also? thanks
What a design!!! Would love to know more on exactly you were able to achieve this!
More in future videos
Waiting patiently, well as patiently as I can.
Very interesting with two front part brakes innovations.. I don't see the marke from the fork. Are from Rockshock or others company? Thanks..
Looks epic
Good job bro
Perhaps this basic design of symmetrical caliper setup is desired for tadpole trikes?
Do you think you can make this for the Surron

where can i find the caliper holder please
Onde encontro essa conexão t para as mangueiras?
I would be affraid of the massive power, and to lock up the front...
But the idea is really good !
Where i find this double brake front?

No problem. It works.
Do you even need brakes at all on those flat trails?
The Front Hub. How to Buy ?
Please list a complete set on Amazon. I want to buy it from India.
Do you sell this conversion kit?
I need this modification for my bike
hmmm, isn't the brake handle going twice deeper?

Tee connector is made in my workshop.
A video about production of Tee in future video.
Hi Paul .... Thanks for the reply....
So you were not able to find a purchased item for this tee? You had to make it?
I wasn't even looking.
Wow spectakuler
this is awesome
The caliper holder & Tee connector will it be on market or order from you? Looking forward!!!!!!
New video about these components this weekend.

Весьма сомнительный тюнинг. Его необходимость. Судя по ездоку, ему такой тюнинг точно не нужен.
