I has driven this exact car in Fuerteventura (canary islands) and It was a great experience. It was the 1.0 tsi 110hp with manual transmission and even in sand roads you can enjoy a lot with this car. Keep It going Joe!

i have driven the golf 1.0 tsi 110 manual. I didn't like it. Power wise it should be a little more punchy. The 1.5 tsi version is just plain better in that department.

The 1.0 TSI is like its 1.4/1.5 TSI 4cyl brother pretty reliable, there were more issues with the larger 2.0TSI and 2.0 TDI engines in the past 8 years. Other small 3cyl engines also aren't that bad, just some have some odd quirks like the older 1.0 Ecoboost which had a timing belt in oil which could quickly disintegrate if the oil was too old or didn't have the right additives. Which isn't really related to it being a small 3cyl engine
What an garbage by VW., i have Peugeot 207 15 years old HDI 109hp which weights 1328kg and it consume 4,7 liter per 100km mixed ,infact city drive most ., this is gasoline engine but still way worse and its new model

Joe are you like 3 cylinders car, I think all 3 cylinder cars have bad mileage and engine noise issue.
