Old NC 105 Gets REALLY tough in a Snowstorm!

- We had an Impromptu trip up Old NC 105 yesterday with Spartan Overland that we hadn't planned on filming because sometimes you just need to enjoy what's around you....
Old NC 105 is an easy dirt road with phenomenal views that is great for beginners so we were planning on a nice relaxing ride with breathtaking scenery but mother nature had other plans.
Once we ALL started sliding down the hill and it turned into a crash course on snow winching I decided it was time to turn the camera on and record our adventure.
Let us know if you've ever driven up the north side of 105 in the snow or ice and what your experience was.

Yep they’re fine on a heavy ass truck but on a jeep not so much!
Yeah I agree on the ridge grapplers. Just my opinion but I think the Falkin Wildpeak AT3W's do much better on snow

Tires don't look aired down. What pressure were you running? Airing down your tires (any tires) is your friend.
They were at 20psi, we intentionally went the hard way from north to south.
We could’ve probably completed the whole road had we started south and went north but we were just out to have a good time.

I hit 105 with the first snow this year when it was fresh and powdery. Only 1 or 2 tire tracks ahead. Wasn’t too bad. After a few days of melt and more ice + refreeze it looks like a whole different beast.

Oh it's awesome deep snow . Better carry depends lol . Been there doing rescues high wind & snow . Now going up Wilson creek up to Grandfather MTN in snow that's challenge . Hate Forestry closed 181 down to Wilson Creek that was awesome in snow . Why i used to use carry tire chains for all weather conditions . It's beautiful ride up to Andrews Geyser Old Fort . NC
We did Wilson’s creek and Roseboro Rd.before this.
Old 105 is definitely not a joke with hard packed snow and ice! I like to ride it just for the views. Good call on turning around that day though! Enjoyed the video and Subbed.

Absolutely…but we had a blast until her bearing started squeaking so we decided to call it a day.
