  • ⚠️ If you have not seen us within the last 20-25,000 miles then book in for a live data diagnostic check and clean up.
❗ Have peace of mind and restore fuel economy, emissions levels and a smooth, quiet responsive drive.
🚗 Here we have a Vauxhall Astra 1.6 petrol (2010 - 136, 566 miles) booked in for diagnostic consultation and Engine Carbon Clean after it had a few hiccups recently and had been approx 20,000 miles since we last saw it.
🔎 Initial inspection found no obvious issues in the engine bay apart from it being well up to temperature.
📊 Initial code read found a code for thermostat stuck shut, plus exhaust camshaft phasing mechanics range/performance.
🔎🔎 We dived straight into the live data and sure enough the vehicle was running very hot. All other data looked good though.
🧑‍🔧 On with the clean and we kept the bonnet up and heating on full hot to vent the temperature (it still ran at 100°C under these conditions) and crept it through the clean. By the end it was quiet, smooth and responsive again and the owner can now sort out a new thermostat ASAP and get the exhaust camshaft error investigated.

So you diagnose the car and do the carbon clean every time? Or do you also fix the faults as in replace the thermostat in this case? Thank you

EVERY time as long as diagnostics is available on the engine.
      Without it then it's.:
      - not very helpful for the owner if their symptoms aren't Carbon related
      - not safe of there's an issue which means it's not fit to clean
      - not helpful to either of us if the vehicle isn't gong to clean properly
      - not useful to the owner if the issues found are more costly to fix than the car is worth
We focus purely on expert diagnostic consultations, the Engine Carbon Clean procedure and DPF unblocking. We don't perform parts and labour work.
We also perform our diagnostics with the owner so they get to see what's going on with us acting as interpreter as required.
