This folk dance is originally comes from Eastern Blacksea region of Turkey where Pontos Empire was. The Greek people who lived there migrated to Greece about 90 years ago. So now, the dance style is similar but this dance has more rough figures...

Its funny that all of you are yelling and swearing about my culture and my roots! this dance ist ancient greek! Anyone who know history can tell it. the true is, that greeks was in ponto 1500 years befor jesus! on this period there wasnt any turks or mongols or anything else!! I DONT say that turks are mongols!!! BUT in turkey there are living a lot of mongols (about 70%) u can tell if you see the face! so i know a lot of ´´turk´´ people and they say they are greeks!! how it comes? when the mongols and the turks start running over pontos a lot of them start saying there are turks just to save there lives and families!! i am lying? a have friend (know he is) who say always i hate greeks!! turk did this and that and kill so many of them. KNOW three years ago his mother told me that he is got realy angry with all and go to turkey for a year BEACAUSE his grandfather befor he die he told him that there roots are GREEK and they just tell the turkish army they are turks to save the whole familie! the same to one other friend of my. he is greek and go to trapezounta (trabzoun) and he find his old hous from his grandfather. he was knocking the door and one old man opend the door. he just say to him come in two hours. the man who lives there is a ´´Turk´´. two hours later the greek guy go there and after talking.....one brother find the other after 40 years. he told also that he is turk to save his family and his family thinks until today they are turks! not even the family knows the truth! so befor you starting hate and swearing about the greeks, search your history, find the truth about your roots and i think that a lot of you will find that you have greek roots! i know that knwo some of you will again scream out loud something and will write a lot of shit.....but i dont care!! back to choron, xoron, χορος!! its a greek word and a greek ancient dance!!
