    MacArthur, in my humble opinion, is one of THE best in depth expository teachers I have ever heard! I've never heard any minister like him. PTL!

    I am overwhelmed with feeling right now. I know now why I know John MacArthur is the finest teacher of all. I have never heard any preacher show or share such a deep part of their self during a sermon. Most of us i think, look at a great minister/teacher as so far above us because a good one is really connected in a way we strive for. But today, John not only gave a wonderful sermon, but gave us the privilege of seeing a very human part of him. This does not happen very often. I am so grateful that I listened to this and made sure I saved it. Thank you Lord Jesus for effecting this man's life so deeply that he can share and teach so much of you with us. Amen. God Bless you John.

    It's really true that we are exposed to wickedness and temptation on every turn. It's just so difficult when working because there are almost no other Christians out there and you're forced to spend hours and hours immersed in the wickedness of those around you. I feel like I'm immersed in a sewer all day every day with all of the depravity around me. So very taxing. Trying to find Christians living for Christ even at church is almost impossible in my area. It's very depressing.

    Please explain why the Father couldn’t look at Christ on the cross if Christ did not become our sin? 2 Cor 5:21 He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf that we might become the righteousness of God in Him. I’m sure it is my lack of understanding and I hope to make a correction. Of course Christ Jesus was an acceptable sacrifice because He never sinned. Thank you Father for Your Son given to take away my sins.

      The Holiness of God is Infinite and therefore He is worthy to be praised for eternity. In ancient times, the greater a king was, the longer the train of the robe was. In Isaiah's vison, He sees that the train of God's robe fills the entire temple. As my pastor put it, it is very likely that you could not go anywear without steeping on the robe of God. Up the walls, across the floor, and hanging from the rafters. That's how HOLY God is, flowing on and on in endless Glory.
      Isaiah 6:1

    how can Jesus be tempted if He's "not able to sin"?

    • @nathans8178
      @nathans8178 Před 2 lety

      Temptation is not sin. It only leads to sin IF we choose to take it. The temptation that Christ endured was not to test His faith (for who is more faithful than God, whom Jesus is) but to show to us that He is there to fulfill what we couldn't: the Law. He lived a sinless life.

      What dose the “first born of all creation” mean? This is where your confused. Look what is said of David.
      "I also shall make him My firstborn, The highest of the kings of the earth.
      Psalms 89: 27
      Was David the first king? No Saul was this is throughout scripture. Paul makes this clear by saying in verse 16 all things were created through him. If we were to go back to genesis we would see “God created”. Over and over and over. This is why John uses this. John 1:1 says He was God then says in 1:3 to prove this he says He created all things. So if you don’t rightly divide you will make scripture contradict itself. If you have verses that say Christ is God. Isaiah 9:6, 7:14, John 1:1, Philippians 2:6, Colossians 2:9 ext…. You can’t take one verse and override the many verses that say Jesus is God. The first born is just to say he is the highest among men. Meaning flesh, the word became flesh. We shall call him Immanuel (God with us).

    Absolutely correct! Only God, the Father, is holy. Secondly, there is no such thing as the trinity. The trinity is a Catholic invention which occurred around the time of the Catholic Council of Nicea in 325AD. Jesus stated it plainly, when asked......Mark 12:32: The scribe said to Jesus, "Well said. teacher. You have truly stated that He is one, and there is no other besides Him." Then there are the statements of God, the Father, Himself on this issue....
    Deuteronomy 2:39: "See now that I, even I, am He, and there is no God besides Me."
    ----
    Isaiah 43:11: "I only I, am the LORD [YHVH], and there is no Saviour besides ME."
    ----
    Isaiah 44:6: "This is what the LORD says, He who is the King of Israel and his Redeemer, the Lord of Armies: 'I am the first and I am the last, and there is no God besides Me'"
    ----
    Isaiah 44:8: "Is there a God besides Me, or is there any other Rock? I know of none."
    ----
    Isaiah 45:5: "I am the LORD, and there is no one else; there is no God except Me."
    ----
    Isaiah 45:6: "So that my people know from the rising to the setting of the sun that there is no one besides Me, I am the LORD, and there is no one else."
    ----
    Hosea 13:4: "I have been the LORD your God since the land of Egypt; and you were not to know any God except Me, because there is no Saviour beside Me."
    ----
    Deuteronomy 4:35: "You were shown these things so that you would know that the LORD, He is God, there is no other besides Him."
    ----
    Deuteronomy 6:4: "Hear Israel!! The Lord our God is one Lord."

    • @nathans8178
      @nathans8178 Před 2 lety +1

      And Jesus Himself said He was the Great "I AM!" Also, Jesus in Isaiah is called Father and God.
      "For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace." Isaiah 9:6 KJV
      Jesus wasn't claiming to be a seperate god, but the only God. Yes, God is one. The Trinity is a mystery. But God is revealed in Christ, and Christ is revealed in God. God is in Christ and Christ is in God. There is no mistaking it. We might not know everything, but we know that Jesus is Almighty God.

      Without Son of God we’d exist beside God. If God the Father is within his creation then we are with him, beside him. Cannot be. Reality demands an intermediary, a means for our existence to both be, and be known by the eternal God. The Father pours himself into the Son so that we can know him.
