It's interesting that Ferrari went with IHI turbos on their new turbo engines. Same company they used back on the 288 GTO/F40.
I feel at some point we'll see Ferrari going to E-motor turbos in the next generation cars. Think about it, Zero Lag, and they don't mess with the engine sound.
I was shocked to see Mercedes already going to this on the project 1. That means in 10 to 12 years they'll be on everything they make. Ferrari definitely got caught sleeping, it's usually them bringing F1 tech to their street cars.
Wanna see a longer version of that client driving that beauty...

David Nussbaum Hey David going to be using Kevin as well for the tune the charge pipes exhaust and downpipes are done by allure performance a local shop here in Toronto the car currently has also novitec springs for the wheels will be going back to factory currently have RFG10 Rohanas in gold but going back to factory setup in hopes of getting some Toyo R888’s to throw on them that could work size wise Havint had any lucky yet getting size for factory set looking forward to the outcome 🙏
North Face Rally with the amount of money that you are putting into the car with quality mods it deserves to have quality performance wheels to match. For you, I’d do HRE R101 Lightweights and we can build them to factory specs so that you can use those Toyo R888R’s. I know black rims up close in person look good but from a distance it gives that appearance of a spare tire. The red Ferrari with the polished gold rims y’all did is hands down the baddest looking one I’ve ever seen.

We're glad we were able to help! What else are those 488's doing besides the Turbo upgrades? Exhaust, tune, & wheels as well?
@@WheelsBoutique Oh nothing like that. Just stock replacements. One had a smokey turbo and the other over spun one of them and broke the turbine off. We do believe they have some sort of tune. Costumer wouldn't confirm. They are both running and driving fine now, we'll see how long that last before they're back for an upgrade to stronger units.

No. It has to be reliable and Ferrari has to warranty it. This is only good for street pulls, too. It’d overheat in track use.

nice. are they much laggier than stock turbos? was it just turbos, exhaust and tune?
GreaseMonkey for this upgrade we’re using the same stock turbo’s but upgraded the internals. We also tune it in a way where they come in sooner so that there is no lag. Just immediate punch right away. For this build we did the Turbo upgrade with Pure Turbo, our custom Boost Controller, iPE Donwpipes, Fabspeed Chargepipes, and custom DME tune.
Y’all should make the 488 naturally aspirated, if the customer is ok with it lol

I don't understand the incentive or reason behind the "mild/wild" boost settings...those are dynamically controlled with your foot in street Turbo cars.

How long will the Ferrari engine hold up to that kind of extra force ....last thing I'd want is to puke out a Ferrari V-8 can't be cheap to rebuild or replace....just wondering ? With pretty regular driving is she good to go for while ?
TheAlberto6842 we’ve had 488 customers with this setup going on 3 years now. Another client has had it for a shorter 2-year period but with heavy tracking in those two years so this holds up.

What was the dyno power after this upgrade?
715 horsepower at the wheels so north of 800 horsepower at the crank.
What the difference between at the crank Hp and at the wheel hp
For rear wheel drive cars the average power loss from the crank to wheels is about 10-18%. If we were to be conservative & say that we only lost 10% from crank to wheels then this 488 is around 795 hp at the crank.

Whats the max HP you can get from the 812?
We've managed to get it north of 900 hp. Even more can be done but the more you push it the more unreliable the engine may become.
So 55hp over stock? i think with more boost and tuning it go could well into the 800hp region and if your using meth and e85 it would be in the 900's
Nah man it say's whp bro so factor in at least 15 percent drivetrain loss that's at least 825 to 840 hp which is 180 jp more ghan stock
700whp is usually 800+hp at the crank. Crank hp is how manufacturers spec their power. This 488 is gonna hella fast.

So you took a car which has 661 stock and "tuned" it to 720. That is so lame, how can you even call it an upgrade :))
Ferrari measures horsepower at the engine. When you factor horsepower loss through the drivetrain (roughly 15%) you get approximately 561 hp at the wheels. On the dyno we are measuring the horsepower at the wheels so when it reads 715 hp in this video that equates to about 840 hp at the engine. Thanks for giving us the opportunity to clarify and teach others about our tune ;)
