The centenario is not really an hyper car, i think it's on the same level of a La Ferrari, which is a midway between super and hyper, the real holy trinity of hypercar manufacturers is Koenigsegg, Pagani and Bugatti. At least imo

It is not an actual package. There is a VIP experience where you can take delivery of the car on a select number of tracks and get a fun track day with a McLaren sports driver, but there is no “VIP package” or any package that solves panel gap unfortunately.

Aventador’s single clutch gearbox doing the car no favours at all. From the other cars perspective you can see after every gear change the SV drops back a few feet 😂
But It needed the Single clutch in order to save some weight haha. The car would've been just too heavy if they included a dual clutch gearbox

Damn after seeing this drag race all I have to say is the McLaren 765LT is gonna be one hell of a car
I lowkey think that the 765 LT could be faster than the Senna on a track with a racing compound like Pirelli’s P zero trofeo R.
You would not want to drive it on on the road/streets just like the Porsche GT2/3 RS models. It would feel like drive a grocery cart down the road. These cars have non compliant suspension and will beat you into submission.

The insane thing about this is that the relatively humble and understated Porsche 911 Turbo S would have taken all of these iconic supercars in the standing 1/4. I guess it goes to show that the 911 Turbo S really _does_ deserve its place in the supercar club.

Seems like this struck a nerve with some pretty sensitive Ferrari and Lambo fans. My comment wasn’t meant to dish on either of these manufacturers. I was being genuine when I called them iconic-they’re two highly cherished and sought after supercar icons, and always will be. @@Maliketh_The_Black_Blade Yes, the wheels (dyno's measure at the wheels) put down almost 800, crank always puts down more cause no loss, all dyno tests have it at almost 800 at the wheels so that would be around 900, maybe even over 900 at the crank...Mclaren has been claiming lower power numbers on nearly all their cars, starting with mp4-12c, its pretty well known in the automotive world...

pista isn’t for drag racing, it has a lot of downforce compared to 720s. Top gear time attack proves that.
@@bigjdm5460 I didnt actually see what happened on top gear but chris Harris did point out that ferrari turned up with their whole team to get it ready with loads of tyres etc. Where as any other car just goes around with what it turns up with. From what I've seen on tracks there hasnt been much in it, and the 765lt we can guarantee will be faster in a drag race and around a track with a hell of alot more downforce

@@sunnyhowd5058 Every big brand does that. Did you know that McLaren actually own the Top Gear test track and do a lot of testing there? Also did you know that McLaren lies about their HP figures? 720s has claimed 720hp, but dyno runs have shows that in reality it has 50-70hp more, so that gives the McLaren a big enough advantage in drag races.
But anyway, both amazing cars and i'd personally choose the Pista
Because McLaren are using a non-industry standard (power at wheels vs engine) BS way of quoting the power. All dyno’s show “720S” has between 780 and 800hp - thats why its so fast. So “765” will probably have 830-850hp - 100 more than Pista.

The 720S has been shown to have close to 800hp on the dyno, also it's aerodynamics are optimised for acceleration, probably more so than the other cars here, so no surprise it so rapid.

I’m yet to see the 720s lose any drag race in any channel carwow, motor trend, top gear etc. it has put down the ferraris, lambos and even the new model s performance although there was a recent update of that so I’m curious to see what happened next but still the 720s is the drag race king
Well you do know that 720s puts down 697whp which puts close to 800crank? Pista on the other hand is a 721hp car, imagine if 720s was the same power as pista... then 720 wouldnt even be a challenge lol,
Yep, that is thanks to 100% carbon fibre + 800+ hp + a great gearbox + very good launch/traction control.

that 720s is hell of a car. The aerodynamic body design and the active rear wing (for optimized drag) are superb. Only those above 1000hp can go against it.
I mean the 918 Spyder can go against it and it has less than 900hp. There’s videos of it losing to both the 918 Spyder and P1.

The 720 actually aound really good if you put a catless exhaust on it. And the Ferrari F8 now sounds even worse than the stock 720 because of the GPF.
It isn't a power problem but a different ratio of the gearbox. If you notice from first to fourth gear Ferrari have shorter gears than McLaren. So this comparison is useless and you can't say who is faster becouse the pista Is a track focused car and 720s has less drag becouse Is road focused.

I've got to say that I have not come across a better car than the 2020 McLaren 720s. The 720s embodies the tireless possibilities of a lighter, stronger, and faster supercar. The 720s offer a High-Carbon Monocage II with iconic bodies, relentless speed, and everything you thought was impossible for a supercar. When I'm in a rush to meet up with a 7 am meeting, accelerating from 0-100mph in under 3 seconds has been a lifesaver 😁
