- Palestinian Ambassador Husam Zomlot in Conversation with Mark Seddon | Ending Israel’s Impunity: The West’s Century of Broken Promises Towards Palestine.
Ambassador Husam Zomlot, Head of the Palestinian Mission to the United Kingdom speaks to Palestine Deep Dive’s Mark Seddon. The ambassador illuminates the U.K.'s century of broken promises and missed opportunities towards Palestine, including the lack of leadership of the British government for continuing to refuse to recognise the State of Palestine.
He places responsibility for Israel’s ongoing impunity on the West for refusing to hold Israel accountable for its ongoing oppression of the Palestinian people.
The ambassador highlights how the U.S. is at risk of losing impact and influence on the region by refusing to reverse Trump’s policy decisions, and predicts the continuation of Israel’s far right trajectory, if the West continues to allow Israel to be unaccountable on the world stage.
The pair also discuss the rise in awareness of the apartheid discourse surrounding Israel and Palestine, Western media bias and the ambassador’s hopes which lie outside of the political elite, but instead at the feet of ordinary people on the streets of the Arab world and across the United Kingdom for bringing about meaningful change from the bottom up.
03:49 - Ambassador Zomlot’s early life and the 1948 Nakba
09:17 - Has the Ambassador ever returned to his family home from 1948?
13:50 - Britain’s role in the loss of Palestine and dispossession of the Palestinians
19:06 - Why Britain should recognise the State of Palestine
25:02 - The hypocrisy of the international community’s response to Ukraine vs. Palestine
30:03 - Is the situation so dangerous in Palestine that the US could change their policy?
33:59 - Will things get worse in Palestine before they can get better?
38:05 - Is the tide starting to turn in Palestine’s favour?
41:52 - ‘The fight against Antisemitism and the fight against the Israeli Occupation is the same struggle’ - Zábava
I love and appreciate his words. 🇵🇸🇵🇸🇵🇸🇵🇸 I only wish he would be heard by a wider audience.
Well said.
It was a very interesting interview with Mark amabassdor Zumlot inshallah one day Palestinian people will be free to enjoy their freedom from the.Israeli brutalityx
Someday Ambassador Zomlot, you will return to your homeland & the Fig Tree, The Palestinians are awesome people & will 🙏✌️
He can return today, if they stop murdering Israelis.
That vision can be expedited, only, by forgoing the fantasy of destroying Israel.
This an ambassador is brilliant. HE'S so well composed and so articulate. I wondered how he was allowed to speak by the host and then I saw who was hosting I thought --Well thank God finally someone actually allows a Palestinian to speak without interrupting; talking over them; or trying to change the trajectory of the conversation. HE said things are looking better & people don't think Israel is a democracy. But I suddenly saw this podcast was done eight months ago and I thought: Yes, WE THE PEOPLE know now for sure it's not and that it is actually fascist. THEY'RE doing exactly what the Nazis tried to do which is genocide. BUT IF this GOOD man thinks the American government is opposed to genocide, he's got another thing coming. LOOK at what happened with covid-19 and thousands killed and disabled around the world and yet they they say it was a success. YOU don't need to be Einstein to put two and two together and to see why they said that. But yes the PEOPLE of the WORLD , THOSE if us without power m, know EXACTLY what's happening. It's sad tho that the Arab world does not unite behind THEIR brothers-- the Palestinians.
Good video and thanks for posting. Respectful correction: Lawrence of Arabia was not D.H. Lawrence, who was a novelist. Lawrence of Arabia was T.E. Lawrence.
Thank you mister Amb. Free Free Palestine from the occupation. ❤
Apology is strength. never a weakness
History should not be used in current affairs. Only human rights coventions and United Nations resolutions. The Palestinians are right on both counts.
Free Palestine 🇵🇸

I wish for a peaceful resolution to the conflict too.
27:08 “The question is why the U.S. is not deciding.” I wish there would be a better debate about this from the Ambassador here. My guess is the failure of Camp David and Hamas takeover of Gaza.
The people who is keeping the British and the Americans alive is the Israeli and no one can bring any settlement to the Palestinian situation .Only talking and talking, about the Palestinian situation which is meaningless.
You understand… finally someone with a brain
Palestine will be free

.. externally when real peace is made with Israel. Internally, as evidenced by no elections for 17 years, is another matter altogether.
Those low life's Israeli will never stop. Sad but true. The Arabs leaders has to step in. This talk was always out there.
Does any Arab Leader really has the courage or strength of Emaan to go against the oppressors ????
When did Palestine exist as a Palestinian independent country? in what year and who were their leaders? thank you
Stop violence everything will be fine . If the Arabs hadn’t quarreled everything would be fine like Israeli Arabs
😂😂 ignorant fool. israeli Arabs 😂😂 that doesn’t even exist
Where were the “Palestinian people” when the Jews were fighting off Rome to prevent the hellenization of Jerusalem?
Did the Cannanites not exist before the Jewish people ever did?
@@h2611 we know close to little about the Canaanites as haven’t existed in millennia. What we know comes from the Jewish accounts and from archeology. We also know they spoke a language closely related to Hebrew. There is little evidence to corroborate the biblical story of a war. Some archeologist believe a theory of slow integration between a nomadic people and a more settled people.
