I worked as a police detective with a man whose uncle was a Dallas police motor officer who rode next to Kennedy's limo that fateful day. When the president's head exploded, skull and brain matter embedded in his leather jacket. The family still has that jacket.

I've always wondered where the motorcycle officer that kept going straight when the rest of the motorcade turned left into Dealey Plaza was going, and why. He rode on past the Texas school book depositary and toward the rear of the building, and I've often thought how easy it might have been for an assassin to have been picked up just seconds after the shooting (say, by a vehicle in that vicinity) and quickly removed from the area. I've never heard an explanation given for the officer's movements that day. Everybody old enough to have witnessed the assassination has questions and theories about it, and this just happens to be one of mine.

It's a good question. There was no reason for that to have occurred. One can easily come up with sinister possibilities. However, I've sometimes wondered if the explanation might be more mundane...like maybe the bike had a mechanical issue and that was the most graceful way to exit the motorcade. One could speculate for hours, which is why it's too bad no one looked into it at the time.

One of its members went on to "Pardon me?", no, he did pardon his Boss however. It was his 2nd most heinous act. Can't believe how he's memorialized now.

Not from this vid. Other information, especially raw film copies sent to, used and preserved in Europe are helpful however.

Nice video! Didn't think that there would be anyone still alive directly associated with Kennedy's motorcades. But I have to question his age if the video was made 2 years ago. If he is 76 in this, then he's now 78-79 born in '43 maybe '44? So that would make him a 19-20 year old police officer assigned to GUARD the life of the President of the United States? Having a hard time believing that.

Thanks for your comment! This story was actually produced back in 2013 and I didn't post it until much later. Mr. Groover was a great interview and I really enjoyed meeting him. Glad you enjoyed it!

May God continue to Bless the Kennedy family, especially in the memory of four very special brothers, all of whom dedicated theIr privileged lives to serving this great nation, its founding principles of liberty, equality, and justice for
      all.
Jack's oldest brother, Joe Kennedy ,was an Army Air Corp bomber pilot. He volunteered for a dangerous mission, in which the B-17 was filled with explosives, flown solo into Germany and set on an autopilot course towards an important factory.
When all was set, the pilot would arm the bombs, secure his chute, and dive out a window or door. With luck, this guided glide bomber of that war would destroy a strategic target, and find his way safely back to Britain. One night, he never returned.
John (JFK) was Kennedy brother #2, a year or two younger than Joe, had a strong reputation in his hometown of Hyannisport, MA. as a skilled sailor.
Like many young American men, John Kennedy joined the US Navy shortly after Dec 7, 1941, the morning Japan attacked Pearl Harbor. Although he envisioned himself aboard a North Carolina class Battleship, he soon learned that the Navy had other plans for the 20=something Regatta champion from New England.
JFK volunteered for officer training, was made a "90 day wonder" Ensign, and would soon become the Skipper of 42' wooden boat with 2 x 12 cylinder engines that could drive that boat, its 11 man crew, a dozen Mk42 torpedoes with a dual 5" gun mount, multiple quad 50 cal. Machine gun mounts, and a rack of 300 pound depth charges, to a speed over 45 knots.
These boats became famous throughout the Philippine Sea as Cruiser Killers. This wooden boat was built by the Higgens Boat Company of Louisiana and was designated the Torpedo Boat, light, better known as a PT Boat.
2nd Lt. John Fitzgerald Kennedy was assigned a command near Guadalcanal Island in 1942 of PT 109, and and with his crew and PT 109 nightly patrolled the Tokyo Express, a channel between the Japanese base at Rabaul and the US Marines holdi ng the island base in the Solomon Sea.
Kennedy's story in PT 109 is well worth the telling. A true story of leadership, heroism, and honor. It is a solid example of commitment to a sacred oath by 1 American Naval Officer who took care of his men, and later became President of the United States -- one of our very best. JFK, was assassinated in Dallas's Daly Plaza on Nov 23, 1963.
Bobby Kennedy was Jacks younger brother and made a great Attorney General. He was instrumental in breaking the hold of the Mafia on the American victims of their scams in early 1960's America. Bobby was also assassinated in LA in 1968 at the Ambassador Hotel on Wiltshire.
Neither investigation of these heinous crimes against America have has satisfactory answers.
Teddy Kennedy was the yougest of the four brothers who became a leader in the US Senate in the late 1990's, although he had a vision for America, he promised his family that he would not run.
They were the best of times. They were the worst of times.
Learn the history of your American Presidents. Please, learn what leadership is, and what it should never be in America.
