Quite possibly the creepiest EBS test ever seen (KIXE-TV, Redding, CA, mid-90s) between the font choice and the severe audio problems they seemed to be having,
I bright flash of light, wailing sirens, shockwave and a mushroom cloud. The Cold War was really scary to a little kid in the early '80s. When you heard an EBS test like this, you knew that there was a distant chance that it could be the world's worst nightmare. Literally.
Off topic, but all you need to do to get everyone to survive a tornado is to transmit a Civil Danger Warning for a nuclear attack instead of a Tornado Warning.
If you think this Attention Signal sounds creepy, you should have heard the one WZZK (104.7 FM, Birmingham, AL) used during the second half of the 1980s. It sounded like a loud laser zapper.
