- Today I have the honour of introducing you all to the Margaery build.
This build is named after the German protoss player Margaery who once beat Lambo with it on the ladder.
This build has seen a meteoric rise in the European Starcraft scene (widely considered to be the most powerful one).
If you use this build on the ladder and you lose, you have done something wrong.

1 year later and i haven't lost a game in diamond in over 10 matches against zerg using this build

Guys does it still works even with the zelots charge nerf ? Now that zelots are faster but they don’t hit +8 ? I’d say no cause u said « u just want to charge in top of them and go back then »

This is disgusting and as a zerg i hate it. And love you for bringing it to the masses. Shared it with my P buddy and he says it's better than crack
ViBE showed a very similar build already 1.5 years back - 32 probes, WP, charge, but no immos; just spamming chargelots and hopping between bases. That's at least as disgusting and it didn't make most protoss players use it.

@Axel Ave At the time of this video chargelots still had the 8 damage upon impact.

Zealot charge did get nerfed (less damage), but I'm sure it will still do a lot of damage

i mean, you don't scout. Like you will absolutely lose to 12 pool.
@harstem I have no problem holding early ling/bane nydus all with this. I just put my gateways on the low ground. Is a 12 pool automatic loss? A 12 pool is the only way I lose
I really enjoyed this guide! But would it work in my golden league? I would definitely lost my prism and immortals at that fight
The nice thing about being in gold is everyone else you play against is also in gold so their response won't be perfect either. So yes it will work, especially with a bit of practice

I have some noob questions (I'm plat 3). If this build auto-loses to an early pool, isn't that a pretty glaring weakness? Not an insignificant amount of players do early pool. Why not pylon scout to prevent that? Also, you don't finish your wall until you put down the second gate around 3:13, that might be too late to block lings even if the oppo goes hatch-first, right? (I don't know timings that well, so maybe not)
I guess for my lower rank, I should just sacrifice some efficiency and finish the wall sooner, yeah?
It will only lose to that if they do it perfectly. I usually scout for the base and pool timings regardless, even though it is a little later
Lings usually arrive from a hatch first at 3:07-3:15 depending on map length

So far i have tried this about 15 times on dia level. Didn't win a single game. They always scout it. I am doing something very wrong but i don't know what
Charge got nerfed. Lol.
I am using two different build actually: one without robo with a proxy warpgate, you don't have immortals which are very good against roaches, but you hit 45 seconds earlier so he'll probably have zerglings, queens and few roaches so it doesn't matter. Second one still without robo, with proxy warpgate and hidden templar archives. You hit around 6:30 with 20 zealots, 4 full energy templars and 2-3 archons. If your storms are good, there's not really much that can hold that.

2JoeStudios I've had some success with this build post nerf. The big sticking points for me were to be especially careful with the gas units not dying and really to stick to posting at a hatchery that way there's always a good non chase target. I've had minor luck keeping some gas and throwing one or two stalkers or adepts into the mix but too many stalkers can make the immortal micro harder. I also have tried a non all in build that has a bail button if or when the push starts to fail, but of course its attack does fail a bit more.
The fact this build loses to 12 pool, means it wins roughly 50% of matches on the ladder lmao
I think every Protoss all in loses to 12 pool which sucks

The reason why Harstem dies to 12 pool wasn't because he's all-in'ing, it was because he was being greedy with his eco so his all-in came faster. He scouted after gateway, nexus and cyber. That's wayyyy to late to react to 12 pool.
If you are >diamond 1 you should always just scout after making first gateway vs zerg. Having your push arrive 5 seconds earlier isn't worth losing to every 12 pool
just skip the nexus and wall first and continue as normal

What if zerg builds mutas?
He will die before mutas
He won at like 6:25. The maximum possible mutas they could have is like 2 and that requires a lot of commitment.
Also even if zerg had 7 mutas they take ages to kill zealots and all that investment into mutas will leave you with almost no ground army. Which means the zealots are just gonna kill all of your drones

Can this hold 12 spool?
This has nothing to do with openings: opening is quite standard, only difference is faster gas. If you scout 12 pool you need faster second gate, later nexus and 2 zealots at the start.
