This flash drive would not initialize when it arrived. In cases like this, we often remove the memory chip and read it with specialized NAND programmers. Once the content of the chip has been extracted, we need to perform error correction, assemble the mix, and perform block arrangement. All of this is done in this video, with a perfectly clean result.

These recoveries are always amazing. Could you imagine an AI or even simpler algorithm that could carry out these steps without human intervention, or are you applying deep reasoning at each step?

He know his job! Like as alwayse! I wanna share my little case: i receive USB on AU6984, with memory HY27UT088G2A (only 1 GB). USB have current at start somewhere beetwin 0.1 and 3 mA and after it it drop to 0 (like in video). I was think that problem in firmware, and do chipoff. Clean all pins and read NAND - on direct reading it show that all is FF (ID of NAND read correctly)... So do dump and build a map not FF and not 0, and have nothing, so all dump is empty. I try read with different voltage, but all the same. For me it looks like that someone was try to do firmware but fail or i don't know, maybe it was some problem by the power, i see absolutley empty memory first time. I tell client about this and she said that i can do with this USB what i want, so i decide to try to do firmware and write something on memory and then i wanna try to read it again. Firmware is done, reading i wanna do today evening. I will add result by answering my own comment. Very interesting why this can happened...

Ok, after reading it now i see different situation, but still it very mutch of FF and 0 sectors. ECC found (528 bytes for sector)! I will try to do page desing omg

A question from someone who understands but really doesn't understand. When you unsoldier the chip, Into what are you placing it to work on it and read it?

    • @hddrecoveryservices

after the chip is taken out, it goes into one of the NAND adapters for reading
