Hilarious this video was uploaded 2 years ago and both comments have come in the last two weeks. I also thank you, just inherited a lovely Chesterfield that’s missing a couple of buttons.

Hi Jakub, it's a deep button release needle by c.s. osborne. Available through or either your local upholstery shop or online for example amazon. Hope this helps. Regards Marja

We just got a new, or I should say new to us, Chesterfield couch. One of the buttons are loose. this video is absolutely perfect!
two questions though, when I search for a deep button release needle I get results for a tufting needle. some of them look like the tool used in the video. Is this the same thing?
also, in the video you put that little anchor piece in the needle and embed it into the couch. couch. what is that little piece that goes into the needle, and attaches to the thread?

Hello Scott, Thanks for the compliment. In some countries they call it a tufting needle. The little piece that goes into the needle is called a tufting clasp. Here is a link to a company in the USA who manufacture upholstery tools. You can buy such a needle through your local upholstery shop or online like Ebay or so. www.csosborneupholsterytools.com/category/Tufting%20Tools,%20Thread%20_%20Twine Hope this makes sence for you. With kind regards Marja
