Laura, I hope this message finds you well. I wanted to express my heartfelt appreciation for the joy and positivity you bring into my life through your content. Unfortunately, I must share some difficult news-I'm currently navigating a challenging journey as my partner battles cancer. This has understandably shifted my focus to being present and finding solace in faith during this time.
I was so eager when you announced your flea market and joining one of your trips, as I had been preparing throughout the year with thrifted items for a show. However, amidst these unforeseen circumstances, I find myself feeling scared and alone, especially since my family is far away.
Despite these challenges, I want you to know how genuinely happy and proud I am for you and Jesse. Your achievements and adventures inspire me greatly. Your videos I never miss, you have become a comforting presence, almost like friends.
If you could spare a moment to send positive thoughts or prayers my way, I would deeply appreciate it. Your kindness and support mean a lot during this difficult time.
Thank you for teaching me so much. Susan đŸ™‹đŸ»â€â™€ïžđŸ„șđŸ„șđŸ™đŸŒđŸ™đŸŒđŸ™đŸŒđŸ™đŸŒđŸ™đŸŒâ€ïžâ€ïžđŸŒč

Fable Cottage was a private home in Victoria, BC, Canada that was turned into a tourist attraction after the owners received so much attention from passers by. It was on a waterfront property looking across to San Juan Island. When I was 14 I worked as a tour guide there. The home was later floated up the island and now resides on Denman Island, a little north east of Vancouver Island. A very cool place indeed!!

I love watching you and Jesse shop together. I’m jealous because my significant other doesn’t see the value of thrifting. I’m collecting things here and there to start an eBay store. I know and my family tell me I would be successful doing with what I buy. They try to buy stuff from me but the heart that I have I just give it to them. I would rather see someone happy than the money. I always thrift for gifts instead of buying new and everyone loves the idea of what it is worth and not that I thrift it. I tell everyone I would rather have a gift from goodwill or a yard sale than new.

Laura and Jesse, I am so o o enjoying watching you thrift the Goodwills together! There is so much love and expertise between you!
I have only one regret. At the very beginning of Episode 6, in the first Goodwill, you picked up a white ceramic? or clay? bowl that remined me immediately of an old Greek or Roman piller. It has just the right color and patina. I felt an immediate attraction and definite connection to it. Alas! You put it back on the shelf! I can't get it out of my mind and so I am writing to ask if anyone else felt immediately drawn to it, as I did? God bless you both always!

My mom used her frog as a wire scrubber holder (SOS pads, plastic mesh scrubbers) before green ocello's came along which were too big for the frog. Then she used a square succulent planter to hold her scrubbers. I use a red metal can to hold my ocellos, SOS pads, metal scrubbers and mr.clean erasers.. as well as bottle brushes.

That frog was a very common piece of pottery that everyone hand painted when painting pottery was a big thing in the '70's. I had one that I made that held a scrubby next to my sink.

The bird sculpture is a heron ... usually when they have the backward facing crest like that, they're herons or egrets (though some cranes have crests too, just a different shape). Forgive my ornithology nerdery. LOL Cool piece!

Wooden vases are a big thing here in North Carolina And it's possible the crack was already in there when they turned it. We see them with test tubes inside them to hold a flower and a tiny bit of water. I have started picking them up for my 3 fireplaces here. And some have cracks. We have a well known wood turner here in town and he sells them with cracks. I understand some are made from old fenceposts that go back 100 years or more. I don't pass them by.

Frog was for your steel wool scrub pad. Very popular in the fifties and sixties. Often made in a ceramics studio. Usually those long and low dishes were used for au gratin food. The fish design is a little different.

I agree about your Goodwill stores! Ours are so often messy and noisy and not as well organized or neat. Yours are so neat and clean! And your finds are fantastic! Lots more goodies to choose from than we see here... you have the Pacific influence; we are European influenced more I suppose. But congratulations on your goodies. I adore the two of you shopping together. Such a fun couple as well as fun finds...
