    Thanks, great video. I just completed this job on my 2001 Pathfinder. I found that you do NOT need to mess with the throttle body to get that middle plug out. The idle air controller right beneath the throttle body comes off easily with 2 screws, and that frees up the path to the tricky middle plug. Plus, while it's off you can inspect and clean it up for better idling. That was my experience anyway ✌️

    Thanks man changed the plugs on my sons ‘02 Pathfinder. #5 was throwing a cylinder misfire code. Plugs were shot to hell.

    Late comment to your video, but thank you for the help! These VQ engines are a pain to work on. I have an infiniti QX4 with literally the exact same setup and this helped a lot, regardless of the camera angles.

    only thing is I wish you showed us a little closer how that air manifold came out and back in, but other than that this has been a tremendous help. I've gotta change all the spark plugs on my 2003 Nissan pathfinder and a #5 coil as well so this is exactly what I needed to know

    • @xonkkram

      I didn't take off the manifold, just the throttle body.

    I'm in the middle of replacing the intake manifold gaskets, hoses underneath, and valve cover gaskets. Gives 100% access to it all that left side is really blocked up. It really isn't a lot of work to remove it just stay organized. Pretty much gauranteed the valve cover to cover hose is broken giving you a vacuum leak if it has never been changed. Dealer said they stock them well since it's so common.

    Thanks for the video. I replaced all (6) ignition coils and spark plugs, and engine runs great. but my fuel economy went from 18 mfg to 15 mpg. Is there any fuel/air mix adjustments to be made?? I did have to remove the housing for the idle air mixture to get at my #4 coil. Is there any adjustment to be made there??? Thanks again for your video.

    • @xonkkram
      @xonkkram  Před 4 lety +1

      All adjustments are electronically controlled and cannot be adjusted. However, if there is an air leak from that area, that could cause poor fuel economy.

  • @gamagecorp
    @gamagecorp Před 8 lety +2

    Hopefully some constructive criticism: I felt like your shots could have been a lot better when taking apart the left side. A different angle would have gone a long way here. Maybe over your right shoulder or hanging from above would have been better. You lost me at 16:26 where you put the tube directly in the way of the camera, blocking what you were working on. I have a #4 cylinder misfire code and was investigating replacing the ignition coil myself.

    • @xonkkram
      @xonkkram  Před 8 lety +2

      Agreed that it could have been better, but by the time I realized it, the job was done and it was too late. I will have to try a different angle next time. Anyways, all you would have to do to change #4 is remove the air tube, take out the 4 6mm allen bolts holding the throttle body on, and disconnect connectors going to the coil and throttle body. All I was doing when the view was blocked was disconnecting the connectors to the 3 coils, so not much was missed.

  • @ronlind1757
    @ronlind1757 Před 2 lety

    Great video! Did you replace throttle body gasket?? I have misfire code on #3, your opinion.. should I just replace all 6 plugs first to see if that fixes it?? Will be doing this to my '02 this week. Thanks

    • @xonkkram
      @xonkkram  Před 2 lety

      I would replace the plugs if they haven't been replaced in over 50k miles. You could also swap #3 coil with another one and see if the code moves to that cylinder. That way you know for sure that the coil is bad. If I remember correctly I think the throttle body gasket is reusable.
