I was thinking since the beginning that Kelcy would be a very apathetic and cold-blooded character by his look. But seen him using a tazer instead of a gun unlike Angelo, him trying to comprehend the reason of Gavril's actions, and his final line, all of that made me realize that, despite his serious look, he has somehow good intentions.
Unlike Gavril who turned out to be a bit more sassy/passive-aggressive(?) than I initially thought hahah

Been a fan ever since the Gavril game came out, so I've been excited for this short film for a long time now, and I'm so glad to finally see it. I love everything: the animation, the voice acting, the characters. And the story is so engaging. For every question we get answered about these characters, a dozen more seem to pop up, but that just makes me all the more excited to see what comes next.

.... That being said, after watching this I've kinda got a theory that Vulpe and Aku Punk are the same person (same hair color, same freckles, same VA, Aku Punk being depicted with blue/green eyes like Vulpe in older artwork, Aku Punk's OC looking similar to Vulpe, both having a thing for rock music, etc) and that the Skrillfuck animation might be foreshadowing.
Gavril seems to be on a quest to find Vulpe and Gavril knew Bubo pre-gooification according to Partulla's twitter, he called him "kuya"- contrast this to the head of the mafia knowing Skrillfuck's real name and calling Bubo's OC "Benny", to which he says, "But... only HE called me that..." Head of the mafia had ties to both Benjamin and Skrillfuck- GAVRIL has ties to both Bubo and Aku Punk (if we're going with the Vulpe = Aku Punk theory) You see where I'm going with this?
Also, notice how the song at the end is called Lab Rat. At first I thought this was in reference to Gavril and the poison being his goo, but then I remembered how Aku Punk is in a lab, with Bubo, doing all sorts of unethical experiments together. Maybe the actual lab rat is Aku Punk, or maybe Gavril WAS Aku Punk's "lab rat" at some point and that's how he got goo'd. I have no idea which is more likely, but both are fun ideas to speculate with.
Granted, do I think this means Gavril's on a quest to shoot up one of Aku Punk's six secret girfriends like in the Skrillfuck animation? As funny and out-of-nowhere as it would be, no. Buuuut I DO think Gavril will cross paths with Aku Punk and Bubo at some point... And I am VERY excited for when/if that happens!!
If you watch the Bubo prequel, I think Bubo and Gavril are cousins
Notice “Vulpe” is the only name in quotation marks in the credits?
oooh, I have similar theories! Personally, since Gavril and Vulpe (assuming he is Aku-Punk) are friends and (presumably) met in school, they might have been going into similar careers. It's possible that the goo-creature was a shared experiment of theirs that escaped and attacked Gavril, resulting in his current form. Perhaps this incident led Vulpe to be sought out after the organization he now works for.
also: Aku-Punk in the debut short Bubo is shown to immediately jump to putting down the rampaging experiment (which he put a lot of work into). If my theory is correct then it would make sense as to why he was so trigger happy with it, since one of the first times an experiment escaped it ended horribly.
also also: Check out the games that go along with the characters :) You can find a quick playthrough on CZcams if you don't want to download it, but (sorta spoilers)...
Gavril appears on Bubo's camera roll, and he is confirmed to be his cousin. Bubo also hides his phone before Aku-Punk had time to see the picture of Gavril-which is interesting in a narrative sense.

Just looked through Bubo.
Micheal Kovach plays Aku punk, a femboy with a left tooth overbite.
He also plays “Vulpe”, who noticeably has quotations around his name in the credits and is a femboy with an overbite.
Punk Rat Poison, Aku Punk, both have punk in it. And clearly punk rat poison came first, so I’m thinking “Vulpe” decided to name whatever his scientist fake name is after his old band.
I also want to say that I think Gavril is one of the first experiments Vulpe did before he got whatever lab equipment and security he does now. Hell, maybe Gavril was an accident that spurred Vulpe away from music and onto science, either because he got infatuated with the power he has discovered or because he’s trying to find a cure for Gavril.

I want to know how they found Gavril on the train.
They're clearly some sort of agency and they probably have the resources to find him.... But I like the head cannon that in the dating sim with Gavril , Gavril didn't kill us and we got the ending where he gave us his number or just a number where he could communicate with us and that our character is unhinged enough to contact him and with a single person communicating with them they use that to locate them with phone tracking.
Even though my head tells me that Gavril definitely killed us cannonly😿
To be fair to our character, all the options you pick to get the romance ending results in not finding out that he's anything more dangerous than a homeless guy looking for food.
You only find out he eats people in the ending where you refuse him food, or the one where you try to call the cops while he's tied up, and both of those endings result in death.
The ending where you learn he eats with the slime only happens if you give him fruit instead of cheese.
The romance ending consists entirely of picking options where you don't find out just how dangerous he really is, so you wouldn't even have to be that unhinged to call him. As far as your character knows, he's just a random homeless guy who was looking for food.
Oh my god, Part! That was SO GOOD! THE ANIMATION, THE VOICE ACTING! ALL FANTASTIC! I will totally support your Ko-fi page later on this summer. I want more BUBØ AND Gavril Content. This was definitely worth the wait. I can’t wait to see what you come up with for the second half of 2024🖤🐀🧀

hey! hope this can clear some stuff up, so Gavril’s cousin is actually a different character, Bubo, who has some of his own stuff. Vulpe is very likely Aku Punk who is another character featured in the series. this isn’t meant to dissuade you from theorizing or anything, just wanted to bring some further context into this!

Firstly, the animation was amazing and I am so curious about what the rest of the story may bring. Secondly(and more of a funny thing that I realized more than anything relevant) indie animation really has a thing for Michael Kovach. It's just crazy at this point because his range is insane as evidenced by the wide variety of characters that he's voiced. Anyways, great job on the animation, and I would love to see more if there's more to be had.

Subtleties like that are super clever and I love those connections almost as much as I loved the movement on young Vulpe's mouth animation
