*Rocky at his peak as a pure boxer
This one has it all.
And Adrian convincing Rocky to believe in himself!
Parents took me to see this when I was 10 started doing PUSH UPS ever since! Still pushing at 50 years old thanks SLY !!!
Proving it on your BRUTAL workouts vids man
#KeepPunchin
#KeepPushin
The best bout Rocky Balboa ever had was with Adrian on the beach during the "I'm afraid!" speech in Rocky III. They were two heavyweights showing their acting chops.
Terrific
@@JoBloOriginals it is terrific but how did Rocky get the rematch against Clubber Lang? Unless there was a rematch clause in the contracts they sign Clubber didn't have to give Rocky a rematch!
@@JoBloOriginals also how was Mickey able to handpick Rocky's opponents? Under the rules of boxing Rocky being champion means he has to fight the three top contenders for the title!
@@leejohnstone894 it's was annouced by Clubber and the boxing commission
@@leejohnstone894 it's a 'paper champion' mentality and it's a test how far he can go as champion before one hungry challenger is ready.
The BEST Rocky movie, and Adrian's pep talk to Him was awesome and makes me misty eyed EVERYTIME.
best from Rocky franchise was obviously the original one which released in 1976.
@@mrdaman99 🤷🏾♂️
Me too😢
The reason Stallone has gotten over for all these decades is because of the heart and passion he puts into his projects. Every new film he is the lead in I still to the the theatre to see which I've done since I was a 10 year old boy. At 25 I still find him as inspiring as ever.
Even his 'bad' films are still entertaining.
It's pretty incredible how hard he works for these movies. I did a whole video breaking down his diet, training and physique in Rocky 3 czcams.com/video/ihhJ9X_h5hc/video.html
@@RainBird88x his 'bad' films were forced fed but also ge has a ego.
First Blood really holds up. Pretty impressive what they did with the budget.
The best movie in the franchise.
The training and fight scenes have never and will never be matched....
Looking forward to seeing the Rocky IV director's cut!
Us too!
It's going to be garbage. He's cutting the robot out of the film. Hard pass.
@@mjwbulich lol you serious?
@@bigkmoviesandgames Absolutely. I have no interest in any film that cuts out original scenes
@@mjwbulich why?
Clubber Lang is one of my favorite characters in a movie of all time. Every line Mr. T says is epic . Also he did beat the hell out of Rocky let's not forget.
I grew up on this one, had the poster on my wall as a kid and everything. Back then, I didn’t like the first one because he lost, to a kid, that matters :). The second one always felt like a rehash of the first but instead they made him win… this one had both, the soundtrack, the very 80s look and feel, freakin B.A. and the Hulkster… you couldn’t want more as a kid in the 80s :)
You're darn right Presto.
Big themes of this movie : Rocky going soft, losing His crown, His surrogate father AND His self confidence. Apollo taking him under His wing against a great villain Mr T. Plus a kicking rock song . It s one of the best of the series
It's back to day 1.
Mr T stole every scene he was in
The one where he fights Mr T... oh you mean the best one!
Ranking my top 10 Rocky/Creed characters I have Clubber Lang as #1 & he's the reason this is my 2nd favorite of the 8 movies
Chronological order is always more interesting for that kind of focused series.
It's so well documented
"Catch meeeeeeeeeee!"
Always makes me laugh.
This movie sounds like it's the reason why Mr. T tells people to respect their mama, as an apology to his. :)
😄😄
Rocky III rules! Came out the year I was born, but Mom and Dad took me to see Rocky IV when it came out and it changed my life….first movie I saw in a theater, so technically Mr. T. and the Rocky III recap in the opener was the first thing I saw! Anyway, great video…cant wait for more Rocky talk from JoBlo!
i love this whole franchise to an extent that i have a soft corner for Rocky V.
Love all including 5 which isn't even my least favorite of the 8 movies
Rocky 5 was very confused
That was a great video. I hope you all do the video of "Demolition Man" someday. That film was ahead-of-its-time and predicting our future
couldn't have agreed more.
Yep, it won't be long before we are getting fines for saying things not socially acceptable and everyone expected to live within the "Be Well" culture...
@@LyndenH The film predicted a not-so-close Liberal future where everything was banned. It was dumb. Except for self-driving cars the movie's predictions were duds.
Marisa Tomei and Cuba Gooding Jr. both won supporting actor Oscars for playing outrageous and eccentric characters. I am dead serious when I say Mr. T should have at least gotten a nomination. Clubber Lang is one of the greatest movie villains in the history of movies.
Mr. T’s performance was considered to be one of the worst not just of 1982, but the entire decade. Obviously I disagree.
Loved Mr T as a kid but Mr T was a beast in this movie. I was scared for the fight in this movie.
I came up with a fan theory about Rocky III in regard to Clubber Lang. According to my theory, Clubber was BA Baracas from The A Team on an undercover assignment as a boxer.
"I love it when plan comes together."
Except we know clubbier dedicated his life to Christ
This fan theory reminded me of this other fan theory that the stories that are the Indiana Jones movies are just dreams from Han Solo as he’s frozen in carbonite
Watching this as a kid I always !over this Rocky...part 4 being my favorite you simply cannot love that one without appreciating this one...that ending with Apollo is simply one of the best endings in all of the Rocky series IMHO
Over The Top, I was in that movie with my Military School in the beginning. ALL the kids crowded around Stallone who has a soft cast on his hand. Still remember him being one of the most humble approachable people... I was in 4th grade.
This movie is a huge part of my childhood I had it on VHS and watched it almost daily.
Until this day I know all the words backwards.
I remember Mr. T from that movie most people probably haven't heard of, DC Cabs.
I remember that one, he was also a boxer in that Penitentiary movie too a lot of people didn't see.
Yes! "If you need bread, get a job at the bakery!"
Rocky III is an absolute classic, but it still has the dirtiest line ever uttered in a PG movie: "It doesn't take a real man to stand there and get his head beat off!" That said, my fave Rocky movies are:
Rocky
Rocky III
Balboa aka Rocky VI (The speeches to the boxing commission and to Robert ALWAYS brings me to tears)
Rocky IV
Rocky II
Rocky V
Mine are
1. Rocky 2
2. Rocky 3
3. Creed
4. Balboa
5. Creed 2
6. Rocky
7. Rocky 5
8. Rocky 4
Love them all though
I think rocky 3 & 4 are probably the most rewatchable movies of the franchise
For me it always was 5 & in fact was my favorite Rocky movie growing up as a kid. That said it's my next to last Rocky movie just ahead of 4 which I also rewatched a ton as a kid. Love all the Rocky movies though. Saw all 8 in theaters for a special screening a couple years ago
I think you'll find that Rocky V was Burgess Meredith's last outing as Mickey :)
@hopeless More as a thought. When Rocky's down on the ground and might lose to Tommy Gunn, he sees Mickey telling him to get back up, 'cause Mickey loves ya! But it wasn't old footage, he came back to shoot the scenes.
@Drew Rivers, yes “Rocky III” was not Burgess Meredith last outing as Mickey. Sure “Rocky III” is the last movie to feature Mickey as a person. The flashback scenes were not pre-exiting footage before hand. Burgess had to fly down to set and film those scenes and also film the scene where Mickey appears as Rocky conscience
Mickey in Rocky V is so sad and depressing to me. We can see that Burgess Meredith was already close to leave his mortal coil... Too old and fragile. As a matter of fact, all Rocky V is depressing, haha.
@@ivanildopereira3181 it felt forced to make that scene. I thought they could have save the scene in the 1st or 2nd movie. Which is lacking a actual flashback like in Rocky 4.
I don't know which part is considered the best one, but Rocky III is by far, mine and my generation's favorite!
Still my favorite training montage. How many Rocky movies after this and it was Rocky’s retirement match. All the matches after this are unsanctioned, street fight, or exhibition.
...saw this on a pirate VHS when I was a kid...(don't judge me)...loved it then and I love it now...so quotable...'My Prediction..??...Pain'...'I Pity The Fool'...'He'll Kill You To Death Inside Of Three Rounds'...etc...
It's definitely the funniest of the sequels:
"My prediction? (lowers brow, stares into camera) Paaaiiin."
Lose it every time 😆
“I reject the challenge! Because Balboa is no challenge! But I’ll be more than happy to beat up on him some more!”
A Sylvester Stallone filmography revisiting, yes please, yes yes yes!
I start watching the Rocky movies with part 3 ,on a VHS cassete. This is my favorite one.
Rocky III has always been my favorite of the franchise because Rocky kicks a lot more butt and he finally has the muscular look because in the previous two movie Stallone had muscle, but not the muscular look
My favorite Rocky. It's the best from a pacing and action sense imo. So much happens.
Holy cow! Just checked and Burt Young is still alive!! That is awesome! I guess he just looked like an old dude forever.
My favorite Rocky film!
Rocky III repeats the trope of motivation coming back, but it’s still awesome to see.
Of course most importantly, Escape to Victory starred the 1980-81 Ipswich Town football team. At the time probably the best club team in Europe.
Paul Cooper the record holder for most penalties saved in a season stood in for Sylvester Stallone during the match sections.
Its more on November 1980 that the shooting taking place
@@lexkanyima2195 The filming of Escape to Victory took place in Budapest in summer 1980. Between football seasons.
Unless you mean something else... :)
@@weavehole ohh ok
@@lexkanyima2195 :)
It's been way too long, must watch this movie soon!!
Mr T is legit scary as hell in this movie.
What a beast :x
Édit : he was Mohamed Ali's bodyguard ??? Holy shit :x
Indeed he was. To think how he pulls off that character when he's a sweetheart in real life. Love the Rocky series
@@melsoloh you know the saying about Nice guys huh ? They are the ones you never wanna see pissed.
Safe to say Mr T was one hell of a Nice Guy :/
@@slckb0y65 he was actually Leon Spink’s bodyguard, not Ali.
I'm a casual boxing fan, by not means as expect but I like how Rocky 1+2 presents him as a blunt force brawler who wins via knockouts rather than points. His go-to move is uppercuts to the torso. This film give him a boxer with the same style but only better. So he as to learn how to fight differently. Creed teaches him to fight like him, makes him lighter on his feet (the previous films mention his shit foot work) and more defense but attacks via quick jabs to the head. It proves at he's actually a total boxer. Fun fact about Rocky 2, I think he technically slips at the end, rather than gets knocked down meaning he shouldn't have to beat to count to get up. I think this is deliberate to the script, making it a bum call by the ref. This makes literally everything including the sport of boxing against him. For me, that little fact really adds a lot but it still works if you don't know it.
This is the best one. Eye of the Tiger is so inspirational.
I would love to see the underrated "Nighthawks" on this series.
Rutgers hauer was the best part of the movie. Apparently Stallone let his ego get in the way & took parts away from Rutger which is why it's not as well received. In contrast Harrison Ford let Rutger shine & Blade Runner is considered a classic
@@rxtsec1 it's typical Sly at that time. He was so focused to become the best.
Mr. T was perfectly cast as a seemingly unbeatable adversary. And he played it as such a mean, angry character that, unlike Apollo, he qualified as a villain.
6:24 That's what a role model looked like in the 1980s. I'll never stop being eternally grateful I grew up in that era!
Nighthawks is very underrated. I’d like to see Stallone do a ReCut of the film.
The first Rocky film that was truly an '80s film. I was a '70s film, II was just treading water trying to expand Rocky's character (did a pretty good job), but felt pretty similar, III was all-'80s all the way. The western world had moved and Rocky III moved with it.
(Also Rocky cameo'd in Mad Magazines parody of Superman II. "Rocky, what are you doing in my sequel?" "Getting in shape for my own, Champ.")
It's just a test for Sly to have a chance to become a legend
It’s Sly’s masterwork. To flip a very good, but grounded franchise and basically make it larger than life and more action based without it being too detached was a fine line he pulled off masterfully.
The best Rocky movie according to me. THERE IS NO TOMORROW!
I was at the statue a few months ago. It's so cool.
In the UL Victory is called Escape to Victory, in my view a better title.
It ain't just Europe that calls it that.
As an Austrian I have to demand a Schwarzenegger Revisited, do one Schwarzenegger then another Stallone one and so on!!!!
I saw this in the theater when I was 8 years old. It is still one of the best Rocky movies and a great sequel.
All the Rockys have been watched by myself multiple times. Its on TV randomly, and Ill watch whatever part is on for awhile, with commercials. Even though I own the 5 disc set. Kind of like Jaws, which Ive watched 100 times probably. But in theory, start to finish, maybe 3 times.
Can't wait till you get to Oscar!
Sooner than you think!
I fucking LOVE the rocky movies
Yes a great idea, make an entire series, silvester stallone revisited🏆🎖👍👍👍👏🏅
I personally give it 9.25 Stallone's **raises his eyebrow**
DAMN if you Mohammed Ali's bodyguard you are NOT to be messed with!
Great video.
Sean Bromely needs to see this.
I’d have to say this is the 2nd best of the rocky movies. 4 being my favorite. But this one translates something that happens in real life to those who achieve success in anything. There’s always a point where you become complacent with your progress and you stop striving for more. And it’s how creed says ; you lose the “eye of the tiger” and it’s sometimes a rough road to get that fire back but for those who keep fighting and struggling, it’s always worth all the pain.
Love FIST , Victory and Night Hawks!!
The only problem I have with this movie is that the final fight was only like 3 rounds. In the middle of the movie, Apollo mentioned that Clubber Lang never had a fight last more than 8 rounds, so I thought a better ending would have been the fight lasting longer where Rocky winds up winning in the tenth round or later.
Agreed, it feels rushed in comparison to all the other fight sequences in the series and makes Clubber look weak.
Absolutely excellent, Sir! Loved the James Bond and love this already! I can't wait for Cobra! Your reviews are the best!
Stallone Revisited is an awesome idea. Looking forward to this journey.
Rocky III is the best Rocky movie.
Awesome. Looking forward to more.
Thank you for this series, love it already. I would prefer it in chronological order but I also understand that you would mix it (the Revisited series) up a bit.
Next, review his movie Oscar, many may not remember it but it was a great little gem in Stallone's vault
We cut to a scene of Adrian sat on a park bench when Duke Washington shows up (he's Tommy Gunn's manager/promoter) Adrian goes in her handbag/purse takes out a envelope full of cash and gives it took Duke Washington. As she goes to leave Duke Washington ask Adrian why did she do it? Putting her husband's health at Risk? Adrian turns around and says Rocky needed to get his pride back! Movie ends
The best line Rocky 1 where your hat lol
In my version of Rocky V the film opens the same as Stallone's version...in the aftermath of Rocky's fight with Drago. #1 change. Duke Washington does Not show up at the press where Adrian announces Rocky's retirement. #2 change. Rocky does not get cheated out of his fortune #3 change. Tommy Gunn does not meet or get to know Rocky and he wins the heavyweight title halfway through the film. The press react the same to his title win as they did in Stallone's version. Tommy Gunn calls out Rocky for a match and Rocky who has fallen into depression since his retirement looks at the TV and says you got it kid. Tommy's challenge brings Rocky out of his depression and he trains harder then ever before
I pity the fool who doesn't buy my breakfast cereal!
He definitely wasn't 2.8% bodyfat ... LOL
thanks for the video.
Sylvester Stallone my favourite actor seen 33 of his films which is probably nothing compares to you guys. Thanks for this appreciate it. It's on my bucket list to watch all his films. Thanks once again guys
My 2nd favorite Rocky/Creed movie
While Rocky 2 is my personal favorite sequel of the franchise, part 3 is probably the most unique entry after the first film. It has an interesting journey for Rocky who loses and then Fights his way back to the top.
Rocky 2 is my personal favorite of the whole series. Then Rocky 3
@@rxtsec1 yeah my favorite is the original but 2 and 3 are a close second and 3rd for me.
@@bigkmoviesandgames as much as I love the original I always felt like 2, Balboa, & Creed are better more improved versions of it. 3 was Stallone going over the top (pun intended) while still keeping story and seriousness in the movie. That's why 4 is my least favorite of the whole franchise. That said I love all the movies.
@@rxtsec1 yeah I enjoy all the films but 5 would be my least favorite. I love balboa and i liked creed as well but they feel like rehashes of 1. I don't really see them as improvements they're just more polished from a financial standpoint and thus lose a lot of the grit of the original film in my opinion. I still think they're great though. The Rocky films are definitely one of, if not the most consistently good franchise out there.
@@bigkmoviesandgames great franchise, fun fact I was 10 when Rocky 5 came out and as a kid it was my favorite Rocky movie and I watched it all the time. 4 always came on tv so I watched that also. I had the 5 movies on vhs. I remember when I became a adult I realized people didn't like Rocky 5 & the hate it got. I was shocked then & even at 41 I'm still shocked by it even though the hate has remained consistent but there are people who do defend it. My best friend who I always watched 5 with still says it's his favorite
Somebody needs to sit down with Mr T. in his mom and explain reality and fantasy to them... 😂
I remember it as the one where he fights the greatest wrestler that has ever lived...Thunderlips!
Rocky knocks Tommy out in the second round regaining his heavyweight title. He immediately announces his retirement and goes out to standing ovation with the crowd cheering however the movie doesn't end yet
He so should have fought him in the ring!
i thumbs up every one of your vids.. they are damn entertaining..
My favorite Rocky
Apollo and Rocky teaming up is like Ksi and Logan Paul rivals to best friends 🐐🐐🥊

ROCKY 3 THE BEST MOVIE 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Very underrated rocky movie
No mention of The Real Rocky, Chuck Wepner? Low Blo Jo.
A very entertaining and enjoyable movie😁
And I the only one who liked this video but felt it ended abruptly.
So we left with a couple of questions. #1 did Adrian pay Duke Washington to convince Tommy to take a dive? Or did she pay him to convince the boxing commission to give Rocky back his boxing license?
Good video!
