Well she definitely used up all the *Visine* in RiteAid, with those big sparkly eyes. Since i'm from the turn of the century, at age 64, I kept waiting for a glimpse of her long legs & feet.
Aubrey is the full package; quirky, awkward, funny and attractive ☺

I'm pretty sure she was neglected as a baby. That way she behaves isn't just a quirky human personality there's some real dysfunction there and she's in some amount of pain

What I’ve learned is that I value characters like her and Nick Offerman I’m contrast to other people. I LOVE Aaron Swanson. I cannot get through Nick’s standup comedy. I love April, but find it almost too much without the Andy’s around her.

There's just something about a really beautiful young woman being deadpan, jittery, and vaguely hostile that makes me howl with laughter. It's a marvelous comic persona, but it's not all she can do. If you want to see what I mean, see an intense little dramedy called Black Bear. But brace yourself for what Aubrey does here. I'm not kidding.

As breathing goes in the realm of the typical Hollywood celebrities, Aubrey Plaza is like a very welcomed breath of fresh air.
It’s a gimmick man.
Plaza is an absolute genius. Specifically, a comic genius, but I don't think she could pull off her comic ability were she not a genuinely intelligent person.
Not many people can make Dave Letterman squirm with awkwardness like she does, and still be invited back. She kills.
I've got to check and see if she's ever done "Between Two Ferns" with Zach Galafanakis.

Makes me think of those old clips of Dave with Teri Garr. In retrospect, they now seem a bit sad.
They did do one, but it never aired. The episode consisted of 15 min of awkward silences, with the occasional random thought.

It’s so good. Dave doesn’t know quite how to handle her. He’s crossed between wanting to laugh, put her in her place when she gets out of line or just beside himself for how jarring she can be.

Her performance last year in "Emily the Criminal" was my favourite performance from last year. She was also amazing in "Legion". One of the most underrated drama actresses right now.

When she said “oh yes let’s talk about that again” that should’ve been his cue to move on from the stroke he questioned her about during her previous visit
David Letterman has always come across as being kinda insensitive and oblivious. You can even tell in the interview he seems to play her off in a kind of non-chalant way, which is kinda disrespectful if you ask me.

Letterman's style can be grating, but it works with Aubrey. He's weird too.
Can't believe they never say the name of the movie: It's Safety. Not Guaranteed. Great low budget movie with a big payoff at the end.
When you watch Letterman clips you discover that he asked guests the same mundane questions each time they visited. "Let's talk about that again," she says. He's oblivious.
Those eyes are absolutely hypnotic.
Lucille Ball throwback: Goofy, funny, off the wall, yet long, lean, and beautiful. Dave’s chuckle says it all. What a fun, lovely girl to hang out with.

I can absolutely relate to her when it comes to speaking. Combining audiobooks while reading at the same time is the only thing that’s helped me get over this. But originally, the struggle was real.

I’m so intrigued to hear what the correlation between public speaking and reading while listening to an audiobook? Confused, but mostly intrigued.
@@valeking5993 So, for me, I think it has to do with practicing focus while communicating. I have pretty severe ADHD, and my whole life when I spoke I would trip over/combine/swap words/pivot thoughts because my mind is all over the place and my speech can't keep up. I also have a VERY hard time following what people are saying - I've been observing them instead of listening. Basically, I can't multi-task, I can only focus on one thing at a time, anything else is ignored. And I noticed reading while listening to the audiobook helps me practice...focused multitasking? And focused communication? I'm a performer, and I definitely do better work on stage in plays when I regularly do this. My scenes just feel like they have more authentic pacing and I have an easier time listening to scene partners. Just a theory!!!

Aubrey has this kind of sense of humor where there is times if you actually think "is she trying to be funny making us laugh or are we laughing at her?" Whatever it is, she pure gold.
She is a natural comedienne without trying to be one. Her big brown eyes rolling right and left as she delivers dumb answers to even dumber questions is hilarious. Letterman, playing the "straight man" to her "comic" in this duo, ala Burns & Allen, Abbott &Costello, Laurel & Hardy or other great comedy duo teams of the past. Unscripted, she and Dave are improvising funny !!

During interviews, Aubrey always seems a little scattered, but she always pulls it off. She is fun to watch.
It's all a great comedic act. I've seen video of her giving a speech and acting completely normal.
He's literally asking her the same exact questions from a previous interview..she's there to discuss her movie yet he doesn't say the title nor does she...I don't know if she isn't mentioning it on purpose as part of a bit... she asks I don't even know why I'm here right after the commercial break... perhaps cause he keeps randomly bringing up stuff he literally had already asked her all about before...it's literally repetitive...
Now that you mention it this makes total sense. I was annoyed that the didn't mention the films name but I'm more than willing to give Aubrey credit for not being "Hollywood". Letterman has no excuse.
This is her schtick but she seems to not enjoy this interview. I don't think she likes Dave maybe. She doesn't act anywhere near this way on Conan or other interviews.

Not only is she one of my favourite actors, but she also seems more grounded than I'd expect for someone in her profession/doesn't really seem to want a lot of peoples' attention. Nice dry sense of humour, too.

I liked if not loved her in every role I have seen her in. I also loved "The Little Hours" which she stared in and produced. I think she has what it takes to shine as an actress, producer, director if she wishes and I think she will be doing great work across the board in film for years to come. Beauty, a genuine quirky charm and a ton of talent in so many areas, what's not to love and admire about her. Life long fan here for sure!
Dave bombed this interview, you have to be able to understand your guest prior to coming out.

She is phenomenal as an actress. There's no role she can't play.
She was THE weak point of Parks & Rec by far but that was a long time ago and I guess she has gotten better since then. They always played the "she is so attractive by being non conformist" angle while she literally walked around like a doll under tons of make up. Her acting back then was bad but its god to know she has gotten better.
I think she's amazing. I'm addicted to watching her play herself. It's a mesmerizing performance every single time. She makes it look so easy. Lol 😂😂
