They are taxing you on a fictitious overlay of parcel numbers over the actual land. That is the job of the accessors office. To manage the overlayed parcel numbers and tax you on it. You must convert your land to a land trust and an alodial title. Not easy to do but it is doable.

Also, Stanley, if you want a dock that's versatile, look into a dock with a track system like Beach King. The track system allows you to move all your legs, bumpers, furniture, and cradles anywhere on the dock. Floes are great for when you don't want the legs sticking up past the dock, but other brands offer the screw jack legs as well if you ask about them.
The nylon 66 nut that was used many years ago as part of the mechanism in the dock legs was great for the leg's operating efficiency. You are correct that there were some failures, especially if a dock was dropped down a bit too hard with an installation barge or if someone continued adjusting when it was all the way in or out. In 2018, we changed to a superior system that replaced the nylon nut with a bronze nut. We are sorry if you had an issue with the nylon style, and we are happy to assist with replacements if needed. That is true whether you live in West St. Paul or East Cupcake, Minnesota or anywhere else in this country.

When one of your Floe legs seize up. Crack it open and check out the plastic square nut in them that strips, causing them to fail.
