He could score 50 goals and 100 points every year and people will still hate him. Because he's a) Swedish and b) has a "pretty boy" image. Especially boomer Leaf fans. They'd rather have someone who scores 5 goals a year and fights people, and they wonder why they haven't won a Cup since 1267. (Leafs fan here btw)

Love me some Willy highlights! When he held out and wanted more money at the time, and when everyone called him overpaid and a man child and wasn't worth the money. I got a lot of hate when I didn't doubt Dubas' decision and stuck with the fact that he's elite and will be integral to the leafs success and I didn't care. I really hope this year the team can get over the hump, and Nylander is one of the top performers in the playoffs, just to show he's the real deal to all the (still) haters.
