Nylander is legit so underrated. He's a solid right winger who had a solid 31 goal season and could've possible had at least a 40 if the season didn't get paused. Yall gotta stop doubting him so much and he doesn't have to be traded.

Yup. F*** the Toronto media. Willie doesn’t give them good interviews so they decide to pick on him with the constant trade talks. My fav is him being constantly traded to the Canes for Pesce.
Yeah, I know, everyone's sensitive with how he and Dubas handled his recent contract negotiations. But he had a turnaround season. Shut up and stop trading him.
People only want to trade him because we are cap strapped and need better defence... Who are you going to trade that can actually get better value, Matthews? Marner, Tavares? He's unfortunately 4th on the picking order behind them with a front loaded contract that has trade benefits, i.e. his 6.5 million/yr deal.

I mean he is making 6.9 against the cap. I still don't think he is overpaid but everybody talks about trading him because nobody wants marner at 10 or tavares at 11. Only rebuilding teams have that kind of cap space.
@@dylanwebster4916 he’s only making 5 million in salary because of his signing bonus, one thing Dubas did was front load these contacts which is smart and appealing to other teams if he wants to trade them...

In today's NHL, for what he brings, $6.9 million per season is a bargain.
I just don't understand how people can say he is underrated. If you watch him play a full shift, he is lost out there like 75% of the time.

You can do this in Montreal. Start with their top six forwards and top four Defensemen. They do enough standing around and watching the game.
Now lets see his top 10 hits...should be easy to pick out since he hits less than 10 a year.
Certain players have certain roles. How many hits a season do McDavid and Crosby have? Yep, same thing.
@@chrisw2546 Uhhh...well....in this contact sport called hockey Crosby has had almost a hit per game through his career, played in 27 less games than soft willy and had more than 3 times the hits this year. Similarly, Mcdavid played less games than willy and had 4 times more hits. Ofc hitting isn't everything in the NHL but nylander is out there playing u10 hockey avoiding the corners, front of the net, etc. Zero grit and willingness to win, never will he sacrifice his body for the puck and you can't deny that.
