Shocker. Maybe the most underrated street car in history.A car nobody saw coming just 8 short years ago. We can always do it over and when we do, we can always do it better. Stronger. Faster. Since this moment in time, you have built another fanbase, which includes me.

This is once again a sad day, Kye Kelly's Shocker, the car that made him so iconic. I have had so many cool memories of this car on tv but my favorite memory is seeing this car win the heads up big tire race at then Mountain Park Dragway. Thank you Kye and thank you shocker!!

Hate seeing the car in the shape it's in, but it done it's job well. We all got to know u because of that car. Alot of racer's had bad nite's when they pulled up beside it. A sad end to a real street legend! Shocker lives!
As iconic as this car is, you could make a lot of money that could go towards the rebuilt Shocker. You could make small squares from the skin, number and sign them... auction off the bigger things like tires, wheels, fenders... etc. They would make a cool momentos for fans, and you would know there would always be someone talking about or remembering the Shocker that kicked everyone's ass and made you a household name... I just rewatched that cash days where you run through all the 405 guys... shoot!!!
Been a fan for years. Sad to see the car this way. But now you got new stuff on a updated chassis. Now it's time to show everyone what's up with the new car. P.s. that front wheel would be awesome wall art in my garage.

I hate it for you man, i remember watching the episode when Big Chief seen the og crow afterwards and it broke my heart about like this is. It brings back my own heartaches from a little fox body lx i poured my soul into back in the day lol, my cousin borrowed it without asking lol and... well you get it. New Shocker looked amazing tho! Hopefully you will love that one similarly.

I know how it feels to say good bye to a car you put so much time and passes into. It's a sad thing indeed but we must move forward....remember if your wheels are spinning or going in the air your not moving forward and moving forward is what drag racing is all about.

Man, Kye, I love the new car but damn this sucks seeing it tore to hell. That car was always my favorite race car. I remember when I saw you race Chief the 1st time. I was like damn,I love that shocker. I told all my buddies and we all fell under the shocker spell. I bet if you asked alot of people would say that car had a peice of their heart. There's alot of cool race cars out there but the shocker,the crow,and the murder nova,those cars have heart. They aren't just bars and motors. Take care bro.

Just a suggestion do like the old school junkyards did put it on a big iron pipe with a tee in front of your shop kinda straighten it out a little put a fiberglass front on it cause that car is a part of history it was known nation wide hell world wide if it wasn't for shocker you wouldn't be where your at today Im a big fan and I think the car needs the upmost respect it deserves and 40 years from now people will drive by telling there kids how bad ass shocker the most winningest street drag car there ever was with it being up in the Air on it's pedestal

If so, his dad built him a whole new car, so for all the haters out there, keep that same energy for other drivers as you do for Justin Swanstrom! I think it’s great that both are fortunate enough to have help from their dads. 👍

It's really hard in a way to watch this because it is most likely the last that we'll see of the OG Shocker.
Shocker kept David safe. Gave its life to save his.

You do know that the "car is not alive?" The car is metal. It does not possess any of the qualities that make a human. And let's face it, that car folded up like a tin foil hat where as a REAL car would be EASILY rebuilt considering the minor crash it suffered. At least Kye has Daddy Money to build an NEW car that IS safe and will keep him and the other competitors out of danger.
@@benburnett8109 I don't know the $64 word to attach human emotions and attributes to an inanimate object, but I was using it as a means to describe the effective work of the roll cage and chassis in protecting the driver, Mr Gates.
I'm not sure if you were able to watch any footage of the crash, but it was a fairly serious crash. It wasn't so much the road that brought about the severity of the wreck, as it was the ditch that grabbed the car and caused it to tumble.
The wreck wasn't the only factor in the retirement of the car. That car had several years of racing, modifications and updates that had been done to it.
I do understand your position and your point of view. I don't fully agree with you, but that is one of the beauties of us being humans and individuals. We are like the dimples on a golf ball; we all have our distinct point of view, and that view is specific to our position. It is only as we communicate our perspectives that we can see and understand each person's perspective. I learned from my grandfather that I should get to know as many perspectives as I can, and to understand them. Seeing and understanding doesn't mean that I have to agree with them. However until I do respectfully look and learn, then I cannot understand. I do respect your point of view.
Sometimes it's not the stress put into the frame and roll cage during the wreck that makes it not feasible for that vehicle to be rebuilt.
During the straightening process there are tremendous forces put on various tubes and brackets that cause those pieces to be very prone to breakage. Plus repeated welding in localized areas changes the crystalline structure of the metal that also can deem it not prudent to rebuild a vehicle.
These few processes and others all cost time, materials and wages, which can also weigh heavily into the consideration of whether or not the vehicle should be rebuilt.
Just because we can doesn't mean that we should.

Sad to see the og shocker like that. I wonder though, why do you and Lizzy ride with nitrous? What’s the pros and cons of riding on turbos, and prochargers and of course nitro? All I know is turbo has great top end, and centrifugal superchargers have great 60’ I don’t know much about nitrous and I’d like to know more about it
