ABOUT ME
- I'm Cambodian and Chinese.
- I was born in November of 1983 and raised in Houston, although my heart lays in between Houston and Hawaii.
- "OG KPOP STAN": I've always used the term "OG" (supposedly "original gangster") to define being old-school, and I became an avid Korean music aka Kpop listener/lover since 1998. Kpop was my coping mechanism from the bullying I experienced in my younger years and it's just stuck by me ever since. Also! Just to be clear: me calling myself an "OG kpop stan" doesn't mean that anyone who's listened to kpop later than me is inferior. A kpop lifestyle is a kpop lifestyle regardless of time.😄
- I was a hiphop dancer for about 7 years. I did the whole crew thing, auditioning thing, competition thing, choreography thing, dance instructor thing, so I have some experience in that field and I hope to be able to share some perspective from my experiences for y'all to see the extra things that I appreciate about a video when I point them out.
- My videos can have quite a lot of cuts in editing and/or my eyes will unnaturally blink rapidly sometimes. This is because of my neurological disease that came with my lupus nephritis (posterior reversible encephalopathy syndrome). My thinking abilities and speaking abilities struggle to align at times.
- Yes, that's Jack Sparrow's ring that I always wear in my videos. I've been a Pirates of the Caribbean fan ever since I rode the ride for the first time ever in Disneyland when I was a kid.🤓

The guy in the denim is Choi San- when you say he sticks out and he’s a performance king you could not be more correct. He’s known in the fandom and outside as one of the best performers in the current gen of kpop & once you add his movements with his facial expressions on stage it’s over. Many people always say that San’s performance skills sticks out even in a group as strong as Ateez

As everyone pointed out: Choi San (vocalist) is Denim Guy! What I still can't believe is that he's technically not part of the dance line and actually couldn't even dance when he auditioned for KQ Ent 😭 to stand out in a group of naturally gifted performers is really something else. He is one three in the demon line (San, Joong and Seonghwa). I'd recommend watching their Wonderland halloween stage performance to see why!

A lot of fans actually talk about how Hongjoong, since his stage name would have been Pan if he had had one, is the leader of the lost boys, and honestly with their MVs and Performances the idea of them being lost boys checks. I can't remember if you've seen Illusion or not but that feeds into the whole theory as well

The one in denim is San and the “ homeboy” that slid is Yeosang. Neither are officially on the performance line. The guy is the VOCALS is indeed Jongho. Red hair is Mingi. Beanie is Yunho. Green sweater is Wooyoung. WooYunGi are officially performance line. You can’t watch it on YT because it’s Snakenet but I definitely recommend checking out the 2019 MAMA performance by ATEEZ and then their subsequent dance practice

YES the MAMA 2019 performance is ICONIC- another performance of wonderland that I think is a must watch is the live halloween version of Wonderland. Also, if you want a guide I highly recommend ‘A helpful guide to Ateez’ by ETINI, it’s the best one I’ve seen so far😊

SAN SAN SAN!! San is in the denim. He is my bias and he has some of the greatest stage presence and performance skills you will ever see on an idol. Facts. He literally embodies whichever song that he is performing and is able to swap from cute sweetheart to posessed demon in seconds.
I think you would really like their song "Horizon", it was produced by one of the members - Hongjoong, and has that pirate wibe to it, and a very interesting choreography. There's no MV, but they recorded a dance practice for it. It'd be amazing if you could react to it!

Thina, these boys were a dance crew first while still training. They have a couple dance vids under the name KQ Fellaz that you should check out. Some are pretty short, but definitely worth your time.
Their facial expressions are crazy.. Even they do have a fun song but the intensity is still there.. That's why i like about them.. And also the one in the denim with pie chart hair is san.. U should checkout his fancam.. Good luck after that.. 😂

I have thought the same thing about Ateez being the lost boys Peter pan vibes. They are my 2nd favorite kpop but they rank the same as stray kids to me because they're different styles of music and I love them both equally. Then there is Taemin and G-dragon 🐉 / big bang. My top 4 go to. Now my list is growing fast with monstaX, ikon, Pentagon, the boyz, NCT127,

You should definitely check out a guide. Etini's guide is the best, long but gives a really good insight on each of the members and how different they are off stage. Fun fact - San had no dance experience before joining Ateez, and now he goes around breaking mics during performances and gets so immersed in his songs character his expressions and dance are so powerful its hard not to focus on him during performances. Hes technically a vocalist, but he definitely falls into the dance/performer category now!
I recommend listening to their b side stuff, Win, Aurora, Mist, Twilight, Horizon ect. They're still a bop just in themselves 😁 Thanks again!

The MAMA 2019 Performance is sick. I think it's the best stage I've seen. I wanted to go to their concert after seeing this. Really follow the suggestion and hit MAMA 2019 Performance as soon as possible. Damn Virus shut that down though (I would have had to fly to Amsterdam for it). I would have probably been one of the few men over 30 attending but I don't care. They are so good. I think they'll be the successors to BTS...

You should watch their predubut performances because are really impressive. At that time people thought that they are a dance crew. Are three performance videos with all of them and one solo for the main dancer Yunho and they did those after training in LA.

not only is it hard to believe ateez are just a 2 y/o group, it’s even harder to believe that this was just 1 year into their debut.
ateez is so special in so many ways, always performing as if it’s their last chance.
I'm surprised I've not seen it in the comments for this video or for the "Say My Name" one, but it gets me every time you mention them being your next Stray Kids- the two groups are really good friends! Stays and Atinys even consider themselves a married fandom and we have mad love/support for one another. Wooyoung and Changbin are actually good friends in addition to the friendship between the groups. It's so much fun to watch clips of the two groups hanging out together at events.
Nothing better than when the footwork sounds all literally just one sound like their stomps and the camera can't take it!
And side note- I need to find out where they get their jeans from because the fact that they can move in them with how tight they are and they don't just shred? I need that in my life! Mine can barely withstand me at work let alone all this dancing.

Honestly the fact that his lone role is "Vocalist" and yet he can stand out so much as a performer in a choreo-heavy group such as ATEEZ just blows my mind. Everyone in ATEEZ has a particular vibe to them as they perform, but something about San specifically just makes my jaw drop consistently, he is a born performer, not just a dancer.

Some time ago, when youjust came back with reactions and said you liked pirates in a video reacting to someone else, I was sure you were going to love ATEEZ and the pirate theme they bring back and forth! 😉 "Wonderland" is in my top 3 ATEEZ songs (which is getting harder and harder to choose). Btw, Hongjoong again wrote the song but again, LEEZ and Ollounder, Dreamcatcher usual producers, were also participating in the lyrics and sound (composed and arranged as well).
And yes like the others already said, San is the crazy denim guy. Same for me, he always brings such performance (they all do like you said). And he was the one "battling" Hyunjin and the one from The Boyz (sorry I don't know his name) in the MAMA 2020 performance.
