one thing to try in hk or guangdong province is clay pot rice. it's a cantonese specialty that you rarely see in western chinese restaurants. chicken would be safest for you and make sure it doesn't have chinese sausage slices since that's also a popular add on topping for clay pot rice. you're love scrapping the crispy rice bits stuck on the sides of the clay pot.

HK doesn't have more goose than ducks. HK also has ducks more than goose but here's the catch: goose is name-brand-worthy and duck isn't. Meaning a restaurant can be specialized in roasted goose and attract customers with this because it is considered a delicacy. Roasted duck is just considered part of the Canto-BBQ menu so most restaurants don't make it a huge deal, but all Canto-BBQ place has it. There are restaurants that specialize in ducks but those would be very niche.

Goose is like the top poultry in Guangdong region, and ofc by extension, in Hongkong! My favorite part of the “LǔÉ” (Braised Goose)is the ÉGān (liver)and ÉXiě (blood), so tender and soft and juicy! However people in Cháoshàn area would gladly pay anywhere from 800RMB to 1500RMB for a single braised goose head, these pricey geese heads instantly sell out since everyone’s after them.
Just a quick fun fact that I’m now at 11:09. Good observation you guys!

My recommendations: Victoria peak, big buddha, lamma island, Stanley market. Street food - curry fish balls, fish shao mai, fake sharks fin soup, puffy egg waffles etc. HK cafeteria - curry beef flank, sweet n sour spare ribs with egg fried rice, baked pork chops w/fried rice (if you eat pork), roast duck n bbq pork w/rice (better than in London). Noodles - beef flank, wonton, fish skin dumplings. Also, your favorite Mixue just opened up outside Mongkok mtr station nr bank building (i believe).

4:45 That's a thin bing definitely not pizza. Bing(饼) is chewy, sometimes floury or doughy and is made differently based on the region. The translation Chinese pizza is just for foreigners to quickly understand what kind of food they're selling. Same as Chinese burger, Chinese churros, Chinese cake, etc. They sound just hilarious to me.

Those street food stores will only last till the early summer. It's tourist promotion designed to set up only half a year. No plan to make it to be permanent yet.
Many people get off work around 6pm, and very often have to travel across the city to their place of gathering, we often setup to meet at 7:30 or 8pm. Some districts are more popular for food and drink, such as TST, Mongkok, Causeway Bay.

6:07 "蛇王新" It's snake soup behind you Libby. You haven't try it? And to distinguish ducks and gooses beside body size, you may look at their heads. Goose will have a lump on their heads and ducks wouldn't. Also the gooses are more expensive than ducks. Roast duck, roast goose and roast pig/pork are the specialty of Hong Kong. That why you see them everywhere. You should try them. Not roast pork cause you don't eat pork. But definately try roast duck or goose.

Nothing you tried were authentic HK street food. The authentic ones are 牛杂Beef Offal? braised cow stomach, lung and intestines;猪肠粉 Steamed Rice Noodle Rolls with mixed salty, sweet, and spicy sauce; 咖喱鱼蛋 Curry Fish Balls, and 云吞面 Wanton Noodle Soup. They can be easily found on busy streets. Just ask your way around.

Everything in Hong Kong is authentic - because Hong Kong is a city of people who once came from everywhere - India, Napal, Vietnam, all over China, Europe, etc.

Cantonese is the spoken language in Hong Kong, and the vocabulary and pronunciation of expressing thank you are different.😃

yea..hk chinese are mostly cantonese Chinese. They don't like people talking mandarin to them. so, no more xie xie (thank you) in mandarin to them. in cantonese, 多 謝(do1 ze6) it's slightly lower tone 謝( ze6) , 多 謝(do1 ze6) means many thanks or thank you. 多 謝(do1 ze6) is more formal than 唔 該(m4 goi1) and if you want to emphasize 多 謝(do1 ze6) you can put a 晒 (saai3) to the end.

So, the streets of Hong Kong at night are still bustling, contrary to the social media buzz about it being dead quiet
