    Gotta tell ya Justin as a non- player I found this to be interesting. PERSONALLY IN MY HUMBLE OPINION I wish that you would have maybe gone to a 70 mic 30 amp or 65/35 . Thanks for doing something like this, as I said I really found this to be pretty darn cool. Enough information without getting overly technical to get boring for someone that just enjoys your music. Thanks Justin and Nikki.

    Its as much a pleasure listening to you speak as listening to you play. You are such a superb teacher, I take notes when I watch your videos because you always get a great sound, to compliment your brilliant musicianship, demonstrating ypu are knowledgeableand know what you're talking about. The information you clearly articulate is trustworthy, reliable and worth knowing. Before I saw this video, my tonal objective was tjhe same as yours, the acoustic tone complimented by the big electric tone. Thank You.

    That was amazing. The whole package is way beyond my budget, but that gives me a lot of ideas. I hadn’t heard of those pickups. I’ve got a Gretsch resonator that I like, so I might add that pickup. The wireless headphones are nice too, but I’ll need to look into adding headphone output to my home built kit amps. I’ll have to check out your slide lessons. I don’t think I have enough time left to get good at it, but it might be fun trying! Thanks for all your hard work. I know this isn’t as easy as you make it look.

    Justin, that guitar looks exactly like the 1937 Dobro Regal I used to have (confirmed from photos I sent to OMI in the 70s, which owned the name then). Regal made instruments for Monkey Wards among other retailers, and these had genuine Dobro resonators, of which many were left after the Dopyera brothers went TU.
    My current slide guitar looks like it might be a Mosrite, into which I fitted a spiffy Beard reso. Sounds and plays nice, but with nothing like the Regal's raw, gutty sound -- and VOLUME. Another axe sold for ready cash and a lifetime of regret...

  • @lordmalachi6
    @lordmalachi6 Pƙed 2 lety

    My mind is blown and as a non-player considering learning I now understand why none of the videos I find online demoing resonators ever have the meaty sound in the low notes that your music does. It took me several hours just to figure out I was supposed to be looking for resonators and not standard acoustics, then thought it was just different strings. Nope, it's not having an entire sound engineering setup for dual sound mixing haha. Dang~

I am building a guitar right now ( ibenez electric ) I'm going to have the neck & bridge go out together - and then have a middle pick go out on a seperate 1/4" . this way I can record my playing - one line with my pedals and the other one clean .Then change around the clean line with different plugin's . This might be a cool live option also,with 2 different effects boards running at the same time
