Hugo has two problems right now: 1. he doesn't have a Chinese coach who can teach him to play fast ball close to the table - this one he can easily resolve. 2. He doesn't have any good players to practice with who are at or close to his level, particularly before the big match like world championship. That one is difficult to resolve. Just compare who are practicing with FZD daily, ma long, wang cq, etc.
You right. He always train with other Brazilians players. But they are too week, they don't push Calderano to his limit. Is hard to get better training like this. I'm honestly impressed that he is in the top 5 by doing this. If he trained with better players he would be inside the top 3 for sure.

Yes, I agree with you. Hugo should be a chinese coach to teach him about the fast ball. The guy is a genius and for sure he was gonna improve his skills and became much better

Hugo played a smart game. He isn’t ever going to be a player that sits back and trades in long rallies especially against the top Chinese players. He does however, have power and creativity which he used well here to keep FZD from getting strong attacks in early. Mentally, FZD just is better when it comes to being in high stakes moments and it showed at the end.

@@WellMefisto From the video, I don't think FZD touched the ball with his racket while the first swinging.
It seems that he had enough time and reaction to save the ball, just like Kristian did in WTT Xinxiang several months ago.
So I don't know why FZD just catched the ball after the first miss 🤔 (maybe his racket touched the ball? idk)
@@Rexspinner_Dionysus I think he tried to softly touch the ball, since Hugo was away from the table... But he missed it and immediately picked the ball with his hand.

O Hugo, joga muito dava pra ganhar esse jogo, no início ele foi o próprio adversário, mas depois foi entrando no jogo e quase meteu uma virada em cima do top 1 mundial
Hugo has the skills but not so much the mentality. He always so agressive and explosive, it's good for him, he is in the top 5 in the world doing that style, but against the top chineses he needs to play more safely sometimes. I think that's the difference between him and the other the top chineses, they are not only amazingly good but also have a good mentality to reduce the pace when is necessary

That one girl that kept screaming whenever Fan got a point was really getting on Hugo's nerves during the live viewing, you can see him getting visisbly more frustrated at the noise as the game kept going.
I was afraid she would have a heart attack.
Hugo must reduce his error rate and not rush to hit every shot so hard

It's the intimidating factor playing against FZD. Those hard shots were going in against Togami.

FZD's concentration levels has been so bad lately. Not sure whats up with him. He upped his level in the 5th and started to fight but that could have easily gone Hugo's way. Anything can happen in the 5th.

Fan has no problem with concentration Fan loves the challenge of the game and unfortunately his level is too high to just compete and it's no fun coming and beating people 11-1, 11-2 which is what he use to do. You won't believe me but go look at his matches that he shouldn't have close matches with and watch.
Hugo comecou a jogar apenas no 3° set, porque os dois primeiros ele literalmente perdeu pra ele mesmo, FZD não fez um jogo muito brilhante perto daquilo que ele ja fez anteriormente, Hugo jogou muito melhor quando fez 2x2, e os pontos que ele sofreu do FZD a maioria foi erro dele mesmo, faltou pouco para o Hugo chegar a final.
Falta Poko pra superar o FZD em uma partida novamente. Jogo encaixa!!
Acho q a estratégia dele realmente foi essa tentar matar os pontos rápidos ir pra trocação com os chineses e muito difícil

But Ma long never struggled against a nonchinese, specially against Hugo
And ma long starts to lost after his all achievement and older age. And he lost just only young chinese player not a non-chinese player.
Yeah.. But wtching ma long losing so easily is heartbreaking.... Doesnt matter if its against a chinese or non chinese.... Besides the fact that one day it was supposedto happen.. Hppens with every great athlete.

7:37 FZD is so calm, catching the ball like it's no big deal. It seems that nothing can surprise him.
This is why ML was the best in history. In his prime, we even suprise when he loses a set. Here FZD was almost lost, and Hugo overpowered FZD many times actually in thoese 2 sets.

You'd never see Ma Long Struggle against Hugo
It was very comfortable for FZD until he lost concentration and took it easy. If he played like he did in the 5th set, the score line will be 11-3 11-2 11-0 to fzd

Everybody is praising Hugo but nobody noticed that FZD just played one of the worst game of his career.
Just too many unforced errors from FZD. This should have been easy match for FZD
