  • Rules:
    1. When someone rejects you, NEVER look back... only look better
    2. Don't let the boy choose you, you choose the boy
lol, obviously I'm a bit joking in these rules, but the central theme of empowerment is a good one!

One thing-I hope you all take my gendered statements in jest. Obviously “never let the boy choose you” is a bit of a joke and a hyperbole. At the deepest level, I always push for equality, dignity, and empowerment :)

Hey, I asked a girl out to prom and she said yes to me, but mid way thru prom she wasn't too eager to dance so I sort of ditched her to dance with my pals, it just the way things go sometimes.

It does not seem wrong to me. I feel that, speaking within the bounds of heteronormativity, this is a great advice to any girl. Just ask first, that is, have a proactive approach (like you have towards things that are important in your life, as you said)

You probably do not know this. When you were a senior, the math teachers, and this math sub, debated naming you as the outstanding math student in the school. The calculus teacher (don't remember his name) was in favor of it, but the other teachers felt that since you had passed calculus in your junior year and were no longer taking a math class, we couldn't give the honor to you.

That "outstanding math student" honor sounds like it was really a participation trophy. Suppose Taylor solved the Riemann hypothesis as a freshman, and never took another math class after that in high school. Would we deny her the Fields Medal because she didn't take trig as a senior? Or is my logic flawed because I am confusing "most outstanding mathematician" with "most outstanding math STUDENT"?

Oh wow that’s so cool I was considered, what an honor 🥰 yeah I really loved math and the concreteness of it-also, I actually did take math my senior year (just not at Central)! I think the high school had run out of classes, so I was taking multivariable over at Otterbein. But anywho, yeah, that’s still really nice to know I was considered 😊

I just had my prom this year and went with my long-lasting girlfriend. We had a great time but I think your story is even more joyful than mine, thanks for sharing it!! You learned some self-respect then and that is way better than a night with any crush. Knowing my worth and having self-respect is something I am still struggling to do in my own life. I'm learning and getting better at it though. Great video

Great Storytelling! Love the lessons from this story that really could have been spun to be sadder (sounds better this upbeat way). Your excitement/confidence really shows through how you explain the story. Amazing! Also appreciate your disclaimer comment bc it shows you are conscientious in all your messaging!

I think the upbeat way is the only way I saw things back then-it’s a trait I really admire about my younger self (the only thing I’d like to improve upon is somehow holding that pragmatic mindset, while also acknowledging feelings and not suppressing them, lol)

I can’t believe you don’t have more viewers/subscribers. Your videos offer wisdom from personal experience, which you present in a witty manner!
On a different note, I am sorry you had a bad experience with your prom date. I am glad, though, that you were able to keep a level head, and, all the way until today, maintain STANDARDS!

It’s okay-if I build it, subs will come!!! (By “it” I mean the channel 😅)
And yeah what a way to get rejected, huh? So proud still of how I handled it

By the way, do you still live by the rule "never trust anyone over 30."?

ouch starting the video with bodyshaming long distance runners Taylor like what -.-

    • @matthewk2388
      @matthewk2388 Před rokem

It is observational comedy: Go to any high school across the country (or travel internationally), and you will see many long-distance runners who are tall, lean, not very muscular, and run shirtless. Of course there is tons of variance among them (some don't check a single one of those boxes), and of course there is nothing wrong with that--or any--body type.
So, if you are trying to be inclusive, realizing the rocky and sometimes estranged relationships people have with their own bodies resulting from the myriad of ways in which they are shamed and have unrealistic expectations imposed on them, that is good. But also, if you even watch a few of her videos, you certainly know what "team" she is on.

Never look back 🫡. Some times it’s hard to move on. Specially if you don’t do a proper closure. You would think this might happen that might happen. If you want to move on you have to talk to the person. Weather he likes you or not. To put everything to an end. At least this is where I am in.
