  • This is the full length video (minus the time we spent attempting to climb the mountain) of my trip down to Mount Shasta about a week ago. We had a lot of fun both driving to the trailhead, as well as on our summit attempt. We had to turn back due to excessive wind speeds, so we decided to do some playing around instead!

    The ONLY advantage I could possibly see the upcoming Crosstrek Wilderness having over your RIG would be this supposed improvement in the crawl ratio. Other then that, adventure zombie’s Crosstrek for the win!!

      What are the part numbers on the springs you are running front and rear from Ralitek. I’m not sure what you mean by release.

      @@Chingon1west I'm not sure what you mean by release, lol. I'm running their 1" raise springs in the front, I have their 1" overload raise springs in the rear, but my rear springs are prototypes. They should be available in a couple months though :)

      @Chingon1west Před 3 lety +1

      Yeah sorry I wasn’t clear. I didn’t know that they had some sort of a prototype going on I see that if you’re on their website they have some sort of a spring that they are calling it overload spring for the rear. Do you know what is different about the ones that you have that are prototypes. I would rather wait if it is worthwhile.

      @@Chingon1west If I recall they have an overload spring, but it's not a 1" raise overload spring. So it would e minus the lift portion of it. I may be mistaken though, I haven't been in their site in a couple days.

    Going through the process of purchasing a 21 Sport and man... do I wish I had the money for the suspension that you're running. Looks like it's a blast to drive!

    Hey now. Don't be knocking my ironman lift. Have you experienced the difference? A full travel strut/shock compared to a top hat spacer. I've had both. I always recomend what works for an individuals needs. Keep on Treking.

    • @TheAdventureZombie
      @TheAdventureZombie  Před 3 lety +5

      Haha! I knew I was gonna get flack for that :p And truth is, I have not experienced the Ironman lift, I'm just going off videos I've seen on how the cars handle. That being said, if you want to meet up at some point we can drive each others cars and then we can both get a good feel for how the other rides :) Doing a testing video like that would actually probably be pretty popular as well.

    • @TheAdventureZombie

      Having no sway bars on my car, driving at speed on dirt roads, I may have well been driving on pavement. It handled AMAZING!

    • @KaptenInsano
      @KaptenInsano Před 3 lety +1

      Yeah I have the ironman suspension, went that route over the spacers myself. I have had overload springs in other vehicles as well. I chose the ironman kit for how well and thought out it was.

    • @TheAdventureZombie
      @TheAdventureZombie  Před 3 lety +1

      @@KaptenInsano I do hear that a lot, but based on the performance I'm getting, I find it hard to believe anything can get the same level of performance. But I'm not saying it's for sure better, it's just my opinion :)

      @@TheAdventureZombie oh all good buddy, I couldn't say either way myself I wish I lived closer so we could test it out haha, I know I will always be more limited because I still have my sway bars installed, but I'm more of a 40% off-road and 60 on road. Keep the vids coming. I would love to see an actual comparison video though of the two different styles of lifts.

    I ike your setup a lot. I would like to get my hands on some trailing and control arms for added durability. My Ironman kit can do about the same in the desert roads near me, my favorite are huge pitched turns.

    I notice you don’t run a front sway bar. Did you on your stock suspension? How do you feel about the body roll?

    • @TheAdventureZombie
      @TheAdventureZombie  Před 3 lety +1

      I took off my sway bars when I had a 1.5" lift already. But it was basically, don't go too fast around corners, but everything else was an improvement I'd say. Less road noise, smoother ride, better off road handling, etc. With the stiffer springs now it's almost like I have sway bars again, but I still get all the benefits of not having them, lol

    How would u rate the iron man lift 2 in lift compared to what u have

    • @TheAdventureZombie
      @TheAdventureZombie  Před 3 lety

      Hard question, I haven't actually driven a trek with Ironman lift, I'm going off the videos I've seen, and the way my setup feels when I'm off road. The other thing I've done is removed the sway bars, so all of that combined makes a very smooth and responsive ride.
