    3 tablespoons sumac divided
    4 whole chicken legs thigh and drumsticks, about 2 and half pounds

    I use my mother's-in-law recipe and when she did the bread she dipped in the oil from cooking the onions then put the bread, onions and chicken under the broiler for a few minute and it was delicious.

    This looks great! In Saudi we use the same ingredients, but different assembly. Ours look more like grape leave rolls (waraq enab).
    For sure I’ll try this!

    Doesn't the dry powder rub on the chicken not burn during oven cooking for 40minutes ? Personally id mix all the dry spices in a little olive oil and use the paste to rub into the chicken before roasting on a trivet of vegetables. Great recipe though I'll try it 🎉🎉🎉

    Wouldn't you rather combine the seasonings and oil in a bowl then brush it on? Seems easier doesn't it?

      Sumac is a middle eastern spice has a lemony taste. You'll find it in any middle eastern grocery shop.

    This dish is not a street food! nothing about it fits the culture of street food! this is a traditional dish that you never find it in a street in whole Palestine. Maybe you will find falafel? but not musakhan please do not appropriate people's culture
