On April 5, 2024, J. Cole would release Might Delete Later. On the song 7 Minute Drill, J. Cole attacked Kendrick Lamar. Two days after the album's release, Cole apologized for the diss track at Dreamville Festival. He later removed the song from streaming platforms.

I can't believe I gotta pin a comment but you guys should probably watch the video and pay attention to how positive it is towards Cole before losing your shit in the comments. You're not doing shit but making yourself look dumb by coming in here and ranting when you clearly havent even seen the video just reacting to the title
💯
bruh, they really doin that???
I can't speak for others, but I apologize if my question seemed malicious. I was genuinely curious about the title change.
Why do clickbait
the title just sounds like you herd "grippy" . . . . .
Cole didn’t win or lose, Cole did him. That’s pretty much what we all should be doing.
And then he dropped grippy lol
Cole was taking about being the best and all that for a hot minute. Then he decided to cozy up to Drake. Kendrick didn’t like that. And so did I. You claim to be the best you gotta move like you’re the best. Cole moves like himself. And he ain’t the best.
@@franekkkkk This. But his good songs are still good songs. He just isn’t in the “G.O.A.T.” conversation anymore.
@@khartoumlavage4253The goat conversation is bullshit. If you're talking about the goat, you can't exclude artists from other decades. 'Kendrick is the goat of the 2010s' is crap. Either, he's the goat or not. And with Nas existing, none of the big 3 are even close to being the goat.

Cole thought it was friendly beef, realized Kenny and Drake had shit to settle, and stepped back. That doesn't make him a coward it makes him smart to not get involved in other people's shit. Especially in an industry where people get killed over saying the wrong thing to the wrong people.
it was cowardly to say an album suck then turn right around and say it was one of the best albums you've heard. he would of won if he just would of never said anything to begin with.
IDK why people think a beef between Drake, Kendrick and Cole would result in murders… these guys are not like that
Nah he shoulda let that track ride instead of backing down and apologizing.
Softest shit I ever read
Yup
After watching the video I think this summarizes why we listen to these artists
Drake:What we want to be like(the idea of being famous, rich and not giving a fuck)
Kdot: what we think we should be like(reserved, woke and self aware)
J Cole:what we actually are(the true middle child)
Thats THE comment
Thats funny cuz that's the exact reason Ive never downloaded a cole album or ever been an actual fan of him... Cuz theres nothing about his music i find interesting or inspiring.
@@p__kinggi got dogged for saying that. dude steals anyone flow or cadence. it's that yt momma shid for me. then as soon as i told bro i just am not fan it's not that serious... cole came out w grippy to get everyone to shut up 😂
Idk man I think only immature kids who don’t know any better want to be like Drake.
And as for Kendrick being who “we should be like”, I think you’re entirely missing the point. Kendrick has said over and over that he isn’t perfect, that he makes mistakes and that we shouldn’t idolize him. Anyone who thinks otherwise isn’t listening.
@@Marina-ld3ewthat's a pretty wide brush your painting with there..... drake got a large catalog bro.... You act like all his songs are the same. I will say WHOLE HEARTEDLY that I kinda stopped being a consumer or drake music right around the time he dropped VIEWS. And that IYRITL, and TAKE CARE are two of the better albums from the last 15 years PERIOD. Do I still enjoy his songs and alot of the pop stuff he puts out sure? One thing I love bout bro is no matter how much I may dislike him and the bodies of work he puts out, i always look forward to a guest verse from DRAKE no matter what...which I haven't really felt that way About a rapper since hov. And DOT... Well DOT is essentially a GOAT to me.... I didn't like the steppers album but every album except that one are legit works of art to me..
Cole.. I can't give ANY OF THE ABOVE NAMED COMPLIMENTS about. If your comment was defending COLE... that's how I feel about the 3.
The vid changed titles more than Drake changes accents 😭😭💀💀
stolen comment?
Who was Cole supposed to diss? He doesn't have a hatred for Kendrick or Drake.
idk how can you claim to be the greatest if you can't stand behind what you rap, and write. And how can you claim to be number 1 if you aren't willing to defend your throne.
@@istoledacookies1491 this wasnt about defending throne? this was a personal battle between kendrick and drake who hate each other
@@feroca4097 That's how it ended up, but that's not how it started. when j cole dipped out of the beef he said nothing about it being too personal or just leaving it to Kendrick and drake, nah he said he didn't feel right about jabbing back and Kendrick and said he thought Kendrick is one of the best to ever touch a mic. It's cool to say your best, but don't compare yourself to someone else and say your better than then if you're not willing to prove it.
@@istoledacookies1491 Dissing somebody is NOT the only way to prove you are better than them
@@istoledacookies1491 you’re fucking kidding me, right? Cole didn’t say anything about it being personal because he didn’t wanna blow Kendrick’s cover so early. Q told him how ugly it was gonna get and Cole was in on the surprise, of May 3rd, like a good boy. So he made up shit to say on stage to cover it up, like how he didn’t feel right or that he lost sleep. Cole probably knew the backlash that would come with saying that after dropping a diss, which is what makes his decision that much more manly. He risked it all for a surprise from Kendrick.
The title went from "J Cole Won the Beef' to "Did J Cole Ruin His Legacy?" to "J Cole Finally Fell Off" to "J Cole Fell Off" LMFAO?
To j cole won the beef
Bro cannot stop making clickbait titles on the same video

grippingly grippy, in fact
As much as I hate the song it's really catchy haha
I disliked the comment but I still laughed
I personally feel Cole isn't the type to send shot like this and I see why his spirit is disrupted by it. We do fuel the fire for this beef and gaslight who's the best in the rap game. I personally chose Cole because i relate to his art and music more, but respect Kdot and The Boy for their own lane that identifies them in the rap game.
Was it his spirit or was it schoolboy q because I've heard both
@@jaahnnn doubt he would come out and say “Q told me what’s really up, I’m out” lol. Mix of both is what I would say
Brilliant comment
A lot of people saying J. Cole backed out because he was scared are being disingenuous. He just felt pressure to drop a diss track he didn't want to. He couldn't even get through an entire song without overtly making clear that he's apprehensive about dissing his boy. Also, everyone knows that, historically, at the heart of every rap beef is two niggas who absolutely can't stand each other. I don't know why folk who are trying to shit on Cole's capabilities as a rapper are being so deliberately obtuse, because even if he did go through with the beef, where was it going to go?
Where was it going to go? Kendrick would have brought out the skeletons we don't know about Cole. And he would have destroyed him just like he did Drake. Cole would have maybe put up a better fight if his heart was in it. But it wasn't. I don't think Cole did anything wrong he made the best decision for himself.
What I’ve realized with most people is they, in covert ways, walk around with a “lie to me!” mentality. They really do. Just like that track didn’t sit right with him, it didn’t sit right with me either. It’s felt sooo weird and forced bc I was like “not THESE two, NO”. Man what would they even have to beef over? I felt like I was a teacher and my 2 brightest students started beefing with each other, when they were just fine with each other before knowing details of their test scores lol. But he owned up to it, and that’s that.
I’d say that he initially did want to make the diss, and the reason why he suddenly switched up was because that he was warned. Warned that things with Kendrick and Drake would go south. And while he did express some hesitation on 7 Minute Drill, he also said some things to suggest “Hey, if this is what I have to do, fuck it, I’m locked in”. And since the person who gave him the warning is none other than ScHoolboy Q, I firmly believe it was Kendrick who sent him to decline the battle, which to me is what really makes Cole’s hate train disingenuous. It’s impossible for him to lose a battle his opponent declined.
@@BuddhaMelffyQueen What skeletons? An artist as big as Cole would've had those skeletons out years ago. The real reason why Kendrick won that beef was because Drake had very obvious, public issues and controversies and Dot simply shoved them back down Drake's throat. Cole, just like Kendrick, doesn't have that many controversies outside of saying a thing or two in a song that made people mad for a week.
What killed Drake was him eliminating any credibility to his diss tracks by making up stories about Kendrick's family. Kendrick didn't reveal anything we didn't already know or suspect about Drake, which isn't to take anything away from him because he masterfully pestered him with these condemnations. He wouldn't have had such an advantage with Cole, if he did, it would have to be some incriminating information and if it's that bad, people are gonna question why Kendrick was sitting on that kind of information.
@@zandisiwetayi9977 an artist as big as Cole? You mean like Drake? "I'm too famous"
I'm not saying he for sure does I was just making a statement.
Edit: and yes Cole did dodge a bullet. Kendrick would have destroyed him just like he did Drake.
The reality of Cole is the fact that, cole fans and cole are very closely connected. My brother (homie) loves Cole to all ends cuz he feels his music deeply. He always says, Cole raps about real shit. Cole's music is always for a normal dude and teaches a normal person the values they should hold to be a good person.
That's why I always felt that the big 3 are like 3 different sides raps and cannot be compared rationally. Even Biggie and 2Pac had the same. They both greatest in their own lane, Biggie for the technicality and Pac for the message and impact. Same with Nas and Jay.
Man you got the shit right
Yea I agree...I've never really understood people comparing the 3 anyway. You can't, you just can't. They are all crazy different and it's like comparing apples to oranges. I've been a fan of all of em since the beginning of their careers...but I do wanna point out that I'm not a fan of "radio" Drake. I'm a fan of the timestamp records Drake, the IYRTITL, Nothing was the same album, Take Care album and so on. The most recent shxt he's done, im not really diggin it, but it's all good because music is subjective. Some people will love certain shxt and some wont.
O my goodness!
I Totally agree.
My brother and I had a very similar conversation.
They are all different style, flow, consciousness,
How they see the 🌎
The list goes on.

What was it before?
Out of the ‘Big Three’, it feels like Cole has the most potential to evolve as he ages to me. Kendrick and Drake are crowded by their legacies, for better or worse; as good as they are, Cole is better off finding his own insights and maturing that way. Out of the three, he’s the most stable and in touch with himself. I look forward to seeing what he takes away from the aftermath of the Kendrick/Drake beef.
He doesn’t need Drake or Kendrick to back him up- he’s an artist in his own right.
This sounds true but isn't. Saying Kendrick isn't stable or in touch with himself is just false when the guy pops out when he wants to then goes on with his life
@@calvinchaba6055 I didn’t mean Kendrick was unstable, I just think he’s a little less stable than Cole is. Kendrick dealt with a lot of trauma as a kid and has spent years trying to iron out all that pain he has in him. Kendrick sometimes lashes out at people when mostly unprovoked, which is what started the whole Kendrick/Drake beef in the first place.
Cole is a normal dude with a pretty sturdy background in comparison. That’s his appeal to me. Kendrick can and will lash out at other artists if he feels challenged, but Cole usually responds calmly or lets that shit fly. He’s more stable.
@dreguthrie4502 that makes more sense but Drake started all this beef . He been dissing everyone including Kenny
@@dreguthrie4502 Nah, it was not unprovoked. Drake and Kenny have been taking subliminal (or, I guess, sometimes not so subliminal) shots at one another for years, this is just the most visible and direct it's been. I mean, shit, that line on King Kunta... "but a rapper with a ghostwriter/what the fuck happened?" in context is right after the Drake/Meek feud where Meek alleged (correctly, mind you) that Drake has ghostwriters. Then there's all the subliminals that Drake has thrown Dot's way over the years.
Cole doesn't really do beef the same way.
True, J Cole is the most mature & calm out of the 3 and will be reflected in his music 🎵
No, next video

It's a matter of perspective. Jcole still my GOAT. He made the right decision by backing out the beef. Build bridges, don't burn' em

Cole the goat for all those reasons that’s why he has his fan base that’s why we love him. He’s helped me grow
Let me ask anyone who sees this this question: why should Cole have stayed in the beef and risk worsening his image (whether it be through GOAT status or personal allegations) when a large portion of the hip-hop community has been punching down on him since at least 2016?
I’m with you.
Cole is a legend in his own right. He has captured the hearts of a generation. When he’s on fire, his bars are unmatched. He will carry on in Cole fashion, and there will always be people who want to count him out.
It’s a shame he got caught up in the beef. It’s K Dot’s time to shine right now. He laid down that whoopin, and used his victory lap to unite warring factions in his home town, as he should. He’s gotta have his moment.
J Cole will have many more moments. He was right to back out of a very personal, ugly battle.

Cole realized it just doesn’t sit right going after someone who he’s truly friends with. They’ve never had any issues ever. Drake and Kendrick is personal.
Cole move with the Most High. He understands what it takes, to take the fall for the teachings of scripture
I think what hurt cole the most is the perception of his recent work.
Recent Years Cole has arguably been at his best, him even saying he was No.1 currently and with Drake releasing Subpar music and Kendrick’s Absence
This was really the one time where Cole had the “crown” over Drake and DOT in alot of people’s eyes I think… Then Kendrick came back and snatched it without much fight from Cole and i feel like everyone else was like “Well Damn, He’s not the best”.
The clip of Drake stuttering while talking to Lebron will never not be hilarious
Cole definitely didn't win anything besides the consolation prize of getting to hide his skeletons back in his closet. He made a shrewd business decision because he knew Kendrick wasn't doing this for clicks he was coming to destroy anyone who got in his way.
Also talking about Kendrick like hes just a persona and riding that persona is fucking stupid. We seen the real Kendrick on Mr. Morale(by far his best and most underrated album).
Man change the title from this clickbait “J Cole Fell Off”. The video is about him being himself and honestly being incredibly in touch with himself and his goals. Gave me mad respect for him
J. Cole is beloved because most of us are just as average. And wearing it is a good look. All he has to do is be consistent, and remain relatable.
J Cole has influenced my life in a positive way more than Kendrick or The Canadian one. 💪🏽
He speaks to people.
Great video but saying Kendrick is not relatable and masking of a persona is your opinion not everyone.when everyone that listens to him say how his music has helped people come out of holes they did not seem to think they could
J cole could never fall off
The way I see it, J Cole's legacy remains the same. A lot of people incl influencers and other rappers / singers eventually realized that he actually did the right thing, and that he actually won on his own terms. My only gripe is... How and why the heck did he have to do that Grippy afterwards? 😂
I hate when people act like Coke doesn’t even come close to Kendrick Lamar on a storytelling front. Listen to Once an Addict Interlude, or the entirety of 4YEO
Doesn’t have a classic album? Do the critics not listen to his music??
A great album doesn't mean it's a classic and a classic album doesn't mean it's great. JID last album was exceptional, but it wasn't a classic.
A classic has to shift the culture permanently. Cole did not do that with any of his albums, no matter how good they were
we do and were always right 🐩🍑🥷
The no feature and no realese date album made waves to me because it was at time when everyone was grabbing for the biggest feature to get clout.
We can hate on Drake all he want but he atleast to the shot to the face instead of on the back compared to cole who cant say the same.
cole for sure isnt THE best, this beef made that really clear. but he for sure is still top3. i think he is happy with that
J.cole is a humble soul a brilliant artist a super dope MC and still a g.o.a.t fuck what Anthony says.

The might delete laterproject was ironically one of the albums of the year in my opinion
nah honestly as a cole fan it was kinda scattered if it had a few more weeks it coulda been better
Exactly bro... that project is classical. I'm not sure if others haven't listened to it well enough but to call the album mid or just ok is diabolical.
So basically, Cole quit the beef...and ultimately won out personally. So much for "never giving up"....because...sometimes it's better to do that (turn around away from a destructive path) than stay the course. 😊
15s ago is wilddd
I dig this. Cole is like literally in the middle but he had always maintained that image of being the "person" rather than the "rapper". It's how I became a fan honestly. Cole is personal and spiritual. Kendrick and Drake are wearing opposites as there images. Kendrick embraces his past and wear it on his sleeves but with Drake it's like he become a completely different person 🤔.
My dude just made a Dumbo pendant lol.
I felt this way low key but I'm completely in this perspective after watching this video. Honestly what a beautiful man.
So dramatic, dude is good
8:56 That bit about The Reluctant Hero, The Hollow Champion, and The Every Man sums up these three so well.
Cole came out this situation with the least damage possible by just disengaging . I can respect that sometimes in life you done fighting all the time , you just wanna live peacefully .
I really love your vids. I always walk away from them with more than just music information.
That ad in the video got so deep.... that was nice
This man just said the project "Might Delete Later" was ok at best. That project should be considered a classic. I'm DONE‼️
Cole knows after Kendrick kills Drake's career, he will go back into hiding, leaving Cole alone to become number 1 till Dot returns like Jeepers Creepers
An all-time video. Love yourz
the kendrick glazing during his introduction is crazy lmao
The man has made some of the best, most thought-provoking albums of this generation, won a historic beef, and used that opportunity to hold a peaceful coalition of every warring faction of LA gang culture. He went home to Compton yesterday to allow anyone who lived there to take part in his music video. He’s legendary. Glazing is only natural.
J Cole is a legend in his own right. I don’t think there’s another artist in hip hop that touches my heart as much. It’s just K Dot’s moment right now, and that’s ok.
As for Drake…I’m sure he’ll dust himself off and start making party songs again. He’s just going to have a limp from that ass whooping.
