    Another great video. That is exactly why I bought the 24 Defender limited is because it fits what I use it for. Hunting and property work . It is also a fun machine to trail ride but probably not to the extreme. Keep the vids coming.

    These 2 machines were the decision I was working on a few weeks ago. Defender Lonestar Limited or Xpedition ADV5 NorthStar. I ended up going with the Xpedition and absolutely love it, but I dont think there is a wrong answer here - both are incredibly comfortable and capable trail limos.

    I have a 4 door 2023 Defender with the XMR package. It has the Smart Lock which is fantastic, and it also has an additional rocker switch for Trail/Mud modes. This changes how/when the diffs lock, basically telling the machine whether it's on a slippery surface rather than a hard surface.
    This leads to a total of 8 different combinations of 1, 2, 3, and 4 wheel drive depending on what you're doing.
    The versatility the Defender offers in its 4x4 modes is simply unmatched.

    I bought my 23 HD10 defender 2 days before the 24's were announced. NOT smart (loc). Have you done any kind of......."it feels like it might tip over" vs "it did tip over" on some uneven ground. I basically hate mine for the "it feels like it is about to tip over". I might tie a rope around the window pillar and my John Deere tractor and see just what its gonna take to tip it over. Not a fun feeling on the rough stuff not knowing where that point is. Travel is nothing as advertised. My guess is you got 2 inches up and 2 inches down and then you lift a tire or two tires and it's a roller coaster ride after that. Anyone who can't afford to go to the fair, just go for a ride in a defender in the back country, you get a ride that you'll need clean undershorts afterwards. I had stiff frame, no suspension go cart as a kid with a 2.5 briggs on it. That go cart had more flex than my can am. Wondering if shock therapy has a fix for this?

    • @americandream_89
      @americandream_89  Před dnem

      @@grantparnes I’ve had mine in several places people had to hold on the opposite side. When you feel like it’s going to tip it probably is. They are very top heavy and like you said they have no suspension travel. Adding a plus one wheel and 32s makes a big difference. But it will widen your turning radius. The defender is a great machine but wasn’t intended for hardcore trails.

      @@americandream_89 Thanks for the feedback. I am one of those guys you heard about who bought a new 2023 Jeep Gladiator Rubicon off the dealer lot in 2024 for 22K off sticker. Put a teraflex lift and some 37 inch milestars on and now my can am kinda sits. In fact I have had the can am 11 months and it has less than 300 miles on it. I do not know how they get away with saying the can am has 9 inches of travel (or whatever than number is in the advertisement) and it clearly is not even close to half that. I suppose it could with no sway bars, but that is not how its sold.
