  • Brock Davidson provides a quick installation guide for the new Gen 2 to Gen 3 Hayabusa Full Exhaust Adapter Kit available from Brock's Performance:
    brocksperformance.com/gen-2-t...
    0:00 - Does a Gen 2 exhaust ‘fit’ a Gen 3?
    1:03 - Issues with Gen 3 dual O2 sensors
    2:08 - Unboxing the Gen 2- Gen 3 adapter
    3:21 - Disconnecting the OEM O2 sensors
4:16 - Connecting and routing adapter harness
    5:07 - Installing the 18mm to 12mm O2 bung
    6:08 - Reinstalling a single OEM O2 sensor
6:47 - Radiator bracket spacer kit installation
    7:31 - Conclusion / what comes next?
This Adapter Kit allows the installation of our Hayabusa Alien Head, CT Meg, CT Single, Penta-Carbon, ShortMeg, StreetMeg, and TiWinder full exhaust systems to mount and function properly on the Euro 5 Compliant Generation 3 Hayabusa (22-24).
4-2-1 Sidewinder compatible when combined with a user-installed O2 Sensor Bung & Plug Kit. The CT Dual is not compatible with the (22-24) Hayabusa.
The Brock’s Performance Gen 2 to Gen 3 Hayabusa Full Exhaust Adapter Kit Includes:
(1x) Plug and Play Oxygen Sensor Harness
    (1x) 18mm to 12mm Aluminum Bung Adapter
(1x) 4 Pack of Graphite Exhaust Gaskets
(1x) Radiator Spacer Kit w/ Stainless Hardware
    (1x) Permatex Anti-Seize Lubricant
Most Brock’s Performance Gen 2 exhausts will physically fit the Gen 3 Hayabusa, but the Gen 3 will throw O2 sensor codes unless the Gen 2 aftermarket exhaust is equipped with provisions to allow the installation and continued functioning of the new dual 12mm O2 sensors used on the Gen 3. Since most Gen 2 exhausts do not have these provisions, Brock’s Performance has developed this kit to prevent error codes and the associated poor performance when codes (or pending codes) are thrown by the Gen 3.
We also include convenience items to perfect the physical fitment of a Gen 2 full exhaust to the Gen 3, such as Gen 2 exhaust gaskets (Gen 3 exhaust gaskets are not reusable), radiator/oil cooler spacers, and corrosion-free stainless steel mounting hardware. Although developed specifically to function with Brock’s Performance Full Exhaust Systems, this kit will also work with most aftermarket Gen 2 Hayabusa full exhausts that contain an 18mm 02 bung typically used for data logging air-fuel ratios. Please note the 18mm bung will no longer be available to measure air-fuel ratios using aftermarket data loggers.
Note: When installing an Alien Head, ShortMeg, or Penta-Carbon exhaust system using this kit, the muffler mounting bracket must be modified to provide clearance for the rear brake lever (follow link for instructions).

    Another great video.
Do the current crop of new bikes with Euro 5 regs require the o2 sensors when tuned? If I recall correctly, bikes of the past would have the o2 sensors disabled. Is that still the case when tuning these new bikes?

I think you should really address some of the issues that have been posted about trying to fit a Gen 2 exhaust onto a Gen 3. I've seen videos and post of the supplied gaskets not fitting into the head for the header pipe, clearance issues with the oil cooler and the biggest one is a real concern due to safety concerns and thats the bracket for the muffler not allowing the rear brake to fully disengage and causing the rear rotor to overheat and turn red. When will these things be addressed so that people that are buying now know ahead of time that there are fitment issues that aren't listed by your website.

Is there any plans to make Gen3 exhaust with two O2 sensors connections instead using a y-cable?

  • @muhammadsteinberg
    @muhammadsteinberg Před 2 lety

Theirs a poster (EnviedKing) who said his exhaust install required drilling (gen3 busa/gen2 exhaust). He said the install initially caused his rear brake to be slightly engaged causing his rotor to glow (ouch). He said he had to do drilling to clear brake.
    Any clarification would be nice.

I’m having an issue with the supplied exhaust gaskets, they seem to be too big and the flanges do not sit all the way in the exhaust port. Anybody else running into this problem? Any advice?

I found a trick to inserting these gaskets. The exhaust ports are conical, they taper. So you need to insert the gaskets edge wise, at an extreme angle. I tried installing them flat and they absolutely don't fit that way. I wish Brock's would give just a bit of attention to their documentation. Small tips like this are critical for a good customer experience.
Update: well they go in but there is no getting them to seat by hand. What are people doing? Running them home by tightening the cups and flanges to draw them up against the exhaust ports? This is ridiculous.

You guys badly need someone that is articulate to rewrite your instructions and update this video, and add others. The common issues customers like me are having can very easily be nipped with updated instructions that are better written. Come on guys. Update, and take care in writing your install instructions. I've been taking videos and pictures all along and I suck at it. Lol. You may not like it when I'm done but I'll pass them along to you for review, for a charge.
