I wholeheartedly agree with this. I worked for an event security company for nearly 10 years and every season they would have an "orientation" for new and returning staff. Well I'd see all these folks show up and the owner would just sit there and make it sound like nothing ever happened at all these events and everything is all sunshine and rainbows.
Well, fast forward to the actual shows and I watched so many new staff end up getting blindsided the first time they asked someone to do something and the patron was drunk and started throwing punches instead. There were also plenty of incidents where elderly guards would end up getting hurt because the owner would sell them a sunshine and rainbows/customer service type of job and end up staffing them at much more dynamic posts than just bag search, wanding, or wrist banding. Which not to say an older person couldn't work those positions, there's just a much higher chance of hands on stuff needing to happen and a lot of people would agree to these posts not knowing what it entailed.

I wasn't aware the security on site was umarmed. And still unclear on why they were there, what there tasking was suppose to be for that environment. I'd never work that environment without being properly equipped and with enough support to effectively complete your assignment.
All I can say is if I were there, unarmed, standing static in that environment, I would be reassessing my life choices while feeling the cold shadow of darwin lurking over my shoulders for being foolish enough to be there unprepared and without proper objectives and tasking. Lol

One thing I noticed is tonight they were aligned along the metal temporary barricades. Facing towards the Pro Israeli and their backs to the ProPalestinian group. Same as if it was a Taylor Swift concert and they were providing security for the talent. Irony is it was the pro Palestinians who were broken up…targeting law enforcement. Many of which were arrested for a verity of offenses. The hypocrisy, what were they accomplishing? Besides fulfilling the contract and be able to point to something…so they could get paid. This was not an “event”, sporting or concert, the tactics and needs are different. They got out of there when law enforcement ordered them to do so obviously but what was the purpose before? Did they deem either side safe?
