    I just love you!!! I don’t play the game. Like you, I refuse to make CZcams about consumerism! I only SUPPORT THE PURCHASES OF BOOKS HAHAHAHA. Please keep showing up here in the MOST AUTHENTIC WAY you can. It’s needed! We don’t need anymore basic people on here, we need DEPTH. And you bring that. So please don’t let the algorithm stop you!!!

    YES! This was the main reason I stopped YT. I was totally over all the consumerism. You said it perfectly, "we are so much more as homeschoolers"! I just love how authentic you are and you continue to keep me inspired. We have always been out of the box as well and have a tremendous LOVE for books. I am not about YT's algorithms either, I will continue to share and use the gifts that Yah has given me too. LOVE you and keep inspiring!

    I've recently found your channel. I love the peace I find here. I don't have Instagram but you make me consider it so I can see more of what your family is up to.
    We have been homeschooling since 2005. We started with full curriculum but are now year-round unschoolers. Like you, I still keep track of things more than is necessary with unschooling. We also have a flowing schedule that keeps us on track. Some may not consider us fully unschoolers but it sure feels like it when you let go of those curriculum rules!
    Thank you for such a neat place to come to on CZcams. I look forward to more!

    Salaam (Peace) ! Ever since I stumbled across your channel I could tell instantly that you are more than a Homeschool influencer. I love that about you and your family. Your are such an inspiration and you often remind me to reflect upon intention and purpose in that it’s about the journey not
    The curriculum or the routines or schedules. We won’t remember that but we will remember the atmosphere that we create for ourselves and family and we want to look back on those times with positivity and see real growth in knowledge as well as our growth in relationships and in our spirituality. I’m am looking forward to what’s to come 😊.

    Your cilantro likes cooler weather and will bolt (flower) in hotter temps. You can try to keep it cut back, but once it bolts, you can wait until the seeds are completely developed and you have coriander seeds! You can cut them and hang them upside down to dry the seeds then shake it into a paper bag and they will all just fall off! My kids love to shake them! Store them in a dry cool place for next seasons planting, or plant it in a pot to bring indoors. :)

    I have been thinking of this same thing as a homeschool family. The journey goes beyond curriculum picks and reviews.
    Personally, I provide so much information outside of curriculum on my CZcams channel, but like you said, if people aren't looking for it (everything outside of curriculum) then our sincere efforts and the time spent seem to be in vain. 😔
    We have lost so many homeschooling channels due to algorithms and partnerships (the community of sharing knowledge about mommyhood, faith, parenting, freedom in learning at home, etc seems to almost be gone). The videos are no longer about the journey. It's about curriculum, hauls, discount codes, etc (and yes, those are needed too).
    Okay, enough of my soapbox...🤗😉
    Thank you for sharing your thoughts and allowing us to enter your space. Together, we can do better. Together, we will be better.

    the cilantro flowers will get these tiny seeds, then the plant will look like its dead BUT WAIT eventually, once its completely dry you can shake it and the seeds will fall off. you can then plant them for more cilantro next year!

    & not to talk bad about those who have sponsorships or what not, but I’ve watched so many homeschool channels start authentically like you, and then every video became a click bait title with content talking over 10 minutes about a particular product. You get to the point where you’re thinking do you really use that many products every single day in your homeschool life or is this just to get paid? I think if you believe in the product and use it, it’s a beautiful thing for everyone involved, but people definitely get consumed by the sponsorships sometimes.

    Sadly, the types of videos you describe does not get views. I watch smaller CZcams channels that share what they want. I have gotten some really awesome ideas on here from smaller CZcams channels. Sadly, many homeschool youtubers aspire to be monetized as opposed to sharing and so they fall into the trap of posting more and more hauls and curriculum videos. I use to post videos sharing our days. We did a lot of science experiments just because that's what interested my son. I didn't have any resources to share because I made my own labs and created my own curriculum from my college text books or research online. However, I wanted to be more respectful of my son's privacy so I privated the videos. I have always been a 'make things work" kind of homeschooler but that came at first out of necessity due to financial restrictions but now as an experienced homeschooler (I've been at this for over a decade), it's plain wisdom. I've considered starting up my channel again because I really want be to document our homeschool journey. I have no interest in fame or free curriculum to clutter up my home.

    Those flowers in the cilantro is what carries the seeds this means you will have seeds for next year, i think you cut them and let them dry then you will have seeds, not sure how you do it but def know those flowers have the seeds.

    • @karatepop
      @karatepop Před 4 lety

      They're also great cut flowers. Haha. Pollinators love them. You just need to leave the stalks to dry, cut them off, put the flower heads in a paper bag. You can remove the seeds if you want or jus leave them in the bag, give it a shake, and dig through the chaff.
