I’ve read enough mythology to know that if he marries the pretty mermaids, they’ll kill him, and if he marries Shud, she’ll transform into a beautiful and kind wife.
I also know enough mythology to know that the pilot and Shud will be happily married for about 10 years, until they offend Aphrodite with an improper sacrifice, and she skins them both alive and summons crows to peck out the eyes of their children.
Its funny how mythology created hope but then all their stories are so tragic that there is no hope in the end.
If it were only true. Just what is the definition of a "beautiful and kindly wife," these days? My mind draws a blank.

Fun fact: Blobfish look like fairly normal fish in their natural, pressurized habitat. But when removed from their environment, their body expands when pressure is removed giving them their hideous appearance that it's most known for.

@@jane6536 they don't survive out of their pressurized habitat lmao. I don't think pressurized aquariums are viable. It would be very difficult to maintain if not impossible

@@jane6536 Some aquariums do pressurize the tanks. I went to one in Tokyo that kept several smaller tanks with sea creatures that would've died immediately otherwise.
Now we need a third one where the guy eagerly chooses Shud cause that would be hilarious! "I like my women like I like my food....Most gelatinous" but plot twist, Shud finds him repulsive and we need a really good looking guest star to play him lol
