CORRECTION/UPDATE: Nairobi National Park is within the city proper, but depending on who you ask, if you have time as a tourist, you might want to skip this park. If you live there, you might frequent it more or less often depending on your desire to get out of the city.

Guys guys, what a very accurate and detailed video of expat life in Nairobi.
You got your living areas on point,
    You got your prices right,
You got the whole vibe right.
I think the key things apart from the basics you need in Nairobi (and all. Of Kenya) are,
    Understanding of courtesy,
    Street smarts in your interactions,
Wise decision making when it comes to safety.
    Openness to different cultures.
If you have these and a few others, you will absolutely love Nairobi and Kenya.
This is a country that has been built on hospitality. Welcoming any curious person to our uniquely Kenyan culture. We don't know why exactly it's soo endearing to people but we massively enjoy dishing it out. So (as long as you observe courtesy) we will give you the best time of your life very willingly.
    Thanks a lot guys.
Hopefully one day I bump into you at Artcaffe, or Village Market, or Karura, or Alchemist, Brew bistro, Mama rocks etc etc.

I guess as a Kenyan it's interesting finding out about expats living in my country since my father has been an expat leaving abroad almost all his life and as a child of an expat it's interesting having other point of views.
I'd visit my father abroad over the holidays but schooled and was based in Kenya but definitely enjoyed my life abroad whenever I visited him. It felt like an amazing break from reality.

Among many other Taxi apps, like Bolt, Little Cab, etc..If u read all comments, you may remember, I mentioned Nairobi is like being in New York & London. Everything that is available in major cities in the world in U.S or Europe is also available in Nairobi. Maybe even more.. Nairobi is a modern country. Also in Nairobi city centre, you can see animals and take Safari walks in the middle of Nairobi at the Nairobi National Park. It's in the middle of Nairobi. I still notice, you haven't done enough research of Nairobi or other Kenyan towns.. The information is not enough for one to make a decision about moving to Kenyan. Lots of holes and gaps.

Josh & Kalie: Thank you for defining some of the neighborhoods around Nairobi such as Westlands, Kilimani, Huilinghanb, Muthaiga, Langate and Karen. I think Langate and Karen are more of the type neighborhood, I'm looking for lodging. I will be in Nairobi for a week and than a train to Mombasa for another week. However, on my initial trip, my lodging will be it a Airbnb. In listings in Nairobi, Airbnb gives you the address, but, don't give you the neighborhood or any demographics about the area. I would like to take the address and be able to locate or know what neighborhood it's located in. Is there a street map of Nairobi, showing neighborhoods with in addresses. What do you suggest? I prefer to make lodging accommodations before leaving the (US). This way I have somewhere to go immediately when I arrive at Jomo Kenyatta Airport. What type of area is Thindigua? What should I be paying per day at a Airbnb in Langate or Karen? Thank you for any assistance you extend???? Love your videos.

It is worth highlighting that for the Class K Permit the $24,000 per year must be income from sources other than work in Kenya and any type of work is prohibited, even voluntary work.
Actually voluntary work is not permitted at all without a work permit, which can be an issue for partners of expats who are employed in Kenya. Penalties can be harsh if caught.
There are no mandatory vaccinations for Kenya. Yellow Fever; there hasn't been an outbreak for years and there are no high risk areas in the country. Rabies is completely unnecessary unlesss you intend to work with animals. Surprisingly, no mention of Malaria?
The reality of getting work in Kenya is that its increasingly challenging. As well as the government working to develop the country, they are also keen to reduce the large numbers of unemployed local professionals/graduates. A job cant go to an expat if a skilled local person can do it. If an expat is granted a work permit, there must be a Kenyan understudy who will assume the role at the end of the 2 year work permit cycle.
