Alex Wolff (Peter) actually broke his nose filming this movie. Every time you get the light flashes, Paimon is near/and or about to possess someone. Some say Charlie was on the spectrum, others say she was possessed by Painting since dear old grandma got a hold of her when she was a baby.

Charlie was never Charlie. It was paimon the whole time, which explains her behavior. The entity was confused about being on earth in with child’s brain and body.

  • @jaymanuel3396

Remember, the evil grandma offered up her own son first, but he freaked out and killed himself. Charlie was used because she went to live with her. She cut off the bird’s head, per the ritual of Paimon needing a sacrifice of three heads. In the end, the the three heads offered were Charlie, mom and grandma.
This movie is messed up. LOL

Thats was the only time she showed her 'real' self.
Can you imagine how Joan really felt as Annie was telling her about wanting to burn herself and her children to death?! That would have meant burning up Paimon's host and Paimon's replacement host. I'm sure that when she heard about that Joan wanted to reach out and strangle Annie to death ,but she didn't as she needed her alive to do the seance that would 'open pandemonium'.

If you venture (dare) a repeat viewing, you’ll hear noises in the house BEFORE anyone enters, near the beginning of the movie after mom’s funeral when the family is returning home. That’s presumably the cult moving the body into the attic. Paimon likes heads, as shown in the book Annie finds, where Paimon is riding a camel (which are trained with a clucking noise, hint hint) and he’s carrying three heads. Also the staff he’s carrying looks just like Peter’s does when it shoots up in the air during class before he smashes his face into his desk. I think the face smash is probably just a survival reflex for Peter to fight off the possession at that moment. Evidently Paimon was In Charlie all along and her death was just part of the plan to make Peter vulnerable enough for Paimon to possess him fully.

One of the only few real comedic relief moments in Herditary:
When Annie is at Joan’s home, and Joan is performing the seance, in the moment where the glass moves, she looks under the table thinking it must be some sort of practical effect.
When she herself later performs the seance at home, it is Steve who then looks under the table like wtf??
Always thought that was a giggle worthy moment.

Hello! I was going through my usual CZcams reactions search and YOU came up! I saw that you were doing Hereditary so I had to watch. Fun reaction. I looked at your channel and saw what y’all have reacted to quite a few and there are some good ones that I’m going to watch.
I noticed that you tend to go for the usual scary/horror movies and that cool! May I suggest some I didn’t see on your watched list?
    1) “Autopsy of Jane Doe” - this made me re-think about getting embalmed. It is wonderful and it is NOT what you think it’s about. There is a very cool twist that makes this not only creepy, but what kind of surprises can you find in an Autopsy?
    2) “The Hallow” - Based on an old Irish folklore, uses real practical effects and costuming with minimal cgi. CGI is used only when it was necessary and you’ll see why. The Hallow is in the woods… and you don’t want to go there!
    3) “Stake Land” - The best vampire film ever made. It tipped the gore meter scale off the wall. That’s all well and good, but it’s the storyline of a man called Mister who has to teach a boy how to survive in this utopian world of vamps and a religious radical group called the Brotherhood who aren’t very nice. It’s their journey to get to the “New Eden” where vampires don’t go. They meet some characters along the way that really develop the story. This is a film that Kelly McGillis (yes, her from Top Gun,) should have been nominated for Best Supporting Actress. I’ve never seen her stretch her acting chops as much as I did here, and man was it worth it!
The cinematography will make you feel the cold in the bleak midwinter. The score pulls the loneliness out through your heart.
Please try these. There are no misses with any of these three. And it gives a nice change from the normal, everyday horror films.

    I enjoyed this reaction.
Toni Collette & Alex Wolff were fantastic.
If you have not seen Pig (2021) yet, (though it’s not really “Horror”,) Wolff is fantastic as a supporting lead in the film. Absolutist worth a watch, though maybe not a reaction if you want to keep this exclusively Horror, (it’s is a pretty dark drama though, but not Horror.)
I went back to see what I’d voted for and apparently I did not vote in that poll, (either didn’t see it in my feed or wasn’t watching the channel then,) but know I would have voted for X 😂
As much as I do live Hereditary.

Think...no part of this movie would have happened, if Annie right from the beginning, went through her mom's boxes! Pro tips...go back to the scene, the mom's work table, watch the blue bottle! The director did Midsonmar as well. It's good but I just kinda didn't buy the premise, so I wasn't as impressed. This movie here, I would put up with The Thing, Exorcist, the shining, a few others. How Toni Collette didn't win an Oscar for this, is beyond me! A bit of horror truth, when he smashed his face in the desk, he was supposed to hit padding but didn't. His face looking all dislocated, was real! Also Peter's first class, is the same subject from the original Holloween, and the trailer for this came out the same day, the Halloween reboot did!😮😮😮Another callback is during their seance, the clock stops, callback to exorcist! What was hereditary in this family wasn't mental illness, it was Grandma and proly those before her, driving family members insane, with their satanic/cult worship! Charlie was already possessed, represented by the clicks. Heard while she was alive, and after she died, BEFORE the seance. I would say, joan tried sacrificing her son and grandson. Either they killed themselves, or she killed them. Seems if Paimon is not happy with a body it is in, it has to die and be beheaded, so paimon can leave the body, i say it happened to dear old grandma, and definitely happened to Annie and Charlie! I just noticed a weird parallel...the biggest foreshadowing...when the dad gets charlie from the treehouse to go to the funeral, she standing up in the corner, and the camera view is from below slightly like shes twisting and floating!!!! Then In the almost final scenes, the mom is up in the corner of charlies room then floats away, then is up in the corner, above peter, as he's looking at his burned dad!😮 And finally, charlie is back where we first met her, hanging in the treehouse! Biblically speaking, u NEVER want to conjure someone who is dead...this NEVER goes well! King Saul conjured the spirit of the profit, and all went downhill real fast!
Anyone notice in mom's room, triangle on the floor. The mirror? Like absolutely zero reflection?😮😮😮😮. For me, I just couldn't by into Midsonmar, so I thought it was stupid. But u may like it. His next was with Joaquin Phoenix, in I think called, Beau is afraid. The Oscars ought to before themselves on this one! She has been a top ten actor, male or female, for 30 years! The mom in 6th sense, this, knives out, a offbeat comedy with Cameron Diaz, there's nothing she can't do! also think, every word out of grandma and Joanie's mouth was a lie. And u can bet they both killed off the male members of their families, to gain power or get Paimon into one of the male bodies. Or both. Joanie knew, if Annie did a seance, by herself or with family, she would let Paimon/Charlie loose in her house, because Annie had zero idea how to end a seance, or send demons back to where they came from. So Annie's dad was either starved by Grandma or he did it to himself purposely, to be weak and no good for a demon. Annie's brother said in his suicide note, Grandma was putting people inside him. And Joanie? Probably herself, drowned her son and grandson! Also after Charlie's death, the mom goes to sleep in the treehouse, watch the wall when the camera zoom pulls backwards!😮😱

  • @xkelzzzx4921
    @xkelzzzx4921 Před rokem +2

So I actually watched an explanation video on this and y’all got it pretty close so, according to the script, from the time Annie was a child, her mother has been trying to give a “male vessel” to paimon but her husband starved himself and died so he was a no go. Her son ended up hanging himself because his mom tried to “put people (paimon) inside him”. Soooo, being that Annie’s mother hasn’t been the best role model for their family, Annie decides to completely cut ties with her mother when she has her son Peter, however, when Annie has her daughter Charlie, she lets her mother back in her life and as Annie said, “latched onto her”.
It is important to note that according to the script, Charlie has been a vessel for paimon from the moment she was born, hence why Annie references somewhere in the movie that when Charlie was born, she “never even cried” which, as you know for a newborn baby, is impossible.
As far as the rest of the plot goes y’all pretty much hit the nail on the head with the fact that this cult led by the mother is trying to summon paimon but paimon hates being reincarnated as a female as he is described as a “male with an effeminate face”, so, he wants this to be corrected by inhabiting a male body. This is the plot for the entire movie, the mother or queen leigh is trying to set in motion the events that will take place during the movie and what the cult should be doing to ensure everything goes to plan. For example, when Annie meets with Joan, she gives her instructions on how to “speak to her daughter” when in reality, Joan just gave Annie the ritual to letting paimon loose in their home as it is apparent that the activity only worsens after Annie’s little seance.
The ending, of course, shows Charlie/paimon in his approved form/body and will now “lead them to a life of wealth and knowledge”
Side note: yes, all of the weirdos and naked people are the cult members stalking the target family and yes the cult members definitely set up the scene that allowed Charlie to die where she did (hence the paimon symbol on the pole seen just before), so what happened to Charlie was always going to happen one way or another.

Honestly after knowing all the script and word of God stuff it's seeming more and more likely to me that if the movie went on for even a minute longer we would have been privy to the horrific screams of the cultists....because they just murdered paimon/Charlie's entire family.
