1 Million Yards of Swimming: Craig Travers, Genesee Valley Masters Swimming

We are proud to share the amazing story of Craig Travers, who has accomplished a remarkable goal: 𝐒𝐖𝐈𝐌𝐌𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝟏 𝐌𝐈𝐋𝐋𝐈𝐎𝐍 𝐘𝐀𝐑𝐃𝐒 in a year, for the third time in a row! 🏊
Craig is 61 years old and he loves swimming at the Perinton Aquatic Center, where he uses a smart device that helps him monitor his performance and progress. He is also part of the Genesee Valley Masters Swimming Club, a US Masters Swimming program that offers coaching and support for swimmers of all levels and goals.
To give you an idea of how impressive Craig’s achievement is, he has swum 568 miles in 2023. That’s like swimming the entire length of the Erie Canal, plus all the side canals, and then turning back! 😲
