My 2 months old cockatiel learned to fly to me in half a day. His wings were clipped (3 feathers were cut short on each side) but he can still fly. He is really smart and learns fast.
That's AMAZING most birds that get their wings clipped most don't learn and can't fly afterâ€â€
Pineapple is so cute
I love this video, very informative đ„ș
Hello
More people need to know about this channel đ

yep, already becoming popular :3
INDDEEEEEEEEEEEED
my bird came clipped, and now, she only has a few more clipped feathers that she needs to grow back, and can fly almost all over the place. sheâs been flying into high places like the curtain rod and some hanging lights and not knowing how to get down, so iâve started teaching her to come to me on command. this video is easy to follow and memorize.
Yes, I am definitely teaching my bird how to fly, and potty train is definitely the most important ones! Can't wait for him to get there! So excited for him hehe
Thank you!! We are adopting a clipped conure next week. I had intended to keep him clipped but the more I learn about the importance of flight. Thank you for this great video!
This was very helpful, I'm still in the process of getting my budgie conformable on my hand but once he is I'll be sure to train him recall. He's already learnt target training, spin and to shake my finger so I don't think he'll find it too difficult :) would you be able to do a video on how to get your bird onto pellets? Bill has started to eat his veg consistently now but won't touch his pellets :(
Hi Mary, I'm so glad you found it helpful! Yes, I will definitely create a video on transitioning over to a pellet diet! And sounds like Bill is a smart little birdie, excited for him to learn recall, it's going to be super fun for the both of you!
@@FlyingFids thank you so much, I want him to be as healthy and happy as possible :)
What do I do, my bird is bump's its head sometimes when it flys.
How am I going to train him to recall if he can't fly very well???
I do I do???
@@FlyingFids - I feel a bit embarrassed asking but what does "Fids"
stand for? Thanks in advance!
@@FlyingFids is your bird clipped because I'm buying a bird clip or not
gonna flight train my bird rn, heâs been clipped when i got him and iâve been waiting for him to grow his flight wings now and itâs been 11 months now and he should be able to fly hopefully
My conure is growing his in too, heâs getting better like he can fly up now a little bit and farther distances but he still has some growing to do. He can only fly when he jumps off of his cage since it gives him a good drop but Iâm excited for him to actually learn to fly since he keeps flying onto the floor and screams for me to pick him up lol
@Gissell Gomez - Oh my goodness, it took 11 months for the flight feathers to grow back? :( I got my budgie (recently) at a Petco and I asked how long it would take for his feathers to grow and the employee (who obviously really didn't know) told me it would take one month. I knew that wasn't true because I had researched enough to know that the feathers take a while to re-grow. I was thinking it might be more like 3 months or so. Yikes! I can tell that being clipped is making him even more scared to leave his cage :(.
@@ESLteacher62 sorry this is probably super late but itll probably take 2-4 months for your budgie to regrow their wings ! obviously, the bigger the bird the longer it takes because its longer feathers, yknow? i hope your lil bird is doing better now!
I dont have a bird but I really want one so to prepare for one I watch these kind of vids!
Incredible! Thank you!
This is one of the best videos i have found for flight training birds. I never even thought about training my bird to fly back to the perch or around corners. Another helpful thing would be to teach your bird how to fly into their cage because i know my bird has struggled to do that.
Ty so much I have been teaching my bird for months and she havenât known anything but onn even I watched this she has been doing the same thing ur bird was doing ty Iâm crying đ„șđ„Č
My quakers are 8 weeks old and have been flying for about 2 weeks. 1 got out and it took several hours to get her to come back. I'm so glad I found your channel and I will definitely be flight training my girls!
Excellent love your humour
you deserve 1M subs gurl, youâre amazing
This is a great idea and has helped me out a lot. I'm training a young one to fly.

Love this video and your personality is so stinking cute! đ„°
Yes i am going to practice what you taught me right now!!! THANK YOU AGAIN
thats great! have fun! đ
Did it work?? How long did it take to get as good as the bird in the video??
A few days for mine but all birds like humans learn at a different rate
I love your videos, theyâre very easy to follow and entertaining. Thanks so much! I have two green cheeks too but one of them is disabled. Heâs such a sweet baby regardless đ„°
Thank you, I plan on getting a parrot and this really helped me and I will always remember this.
Love this đ
Your explanations are very helpful. Thank you đ
Great tutorial thank you. I have a patagonian conure less than 2 years old. Tamed but not trained. I've had him for a couple of weeks and I'm starting formal recall training as of today.
Excellent training guide really helped đ

Once I get my GCC I'm going to train him this!
My baby bird is arriving this week and the information in this video will definitely come in handy
Very good video đ
omg thank you this helps a lot
This was really helpful Iâm gonna start training my bird how to fly
Woww
Super
Great explain
I love the beging â€
This is very informative video đ§ đ€
I'm certainly going to try this method. When my GCC was very young, he's 2 now... he would come to me when I called. Now he tends to come when he wants to or if he wants some fuss. I know he loves sunflower seeds đ
Im so glad to find you.
My female budgie is getting good at this trick:). Thanks for the tips:)
wow fantstic
This is may the most important thing you will ever teach your bird,
Hi great content. Can you film on how to tackle parrot with feather pecking behaviour.thank you.
Amazing video! But do you have any tips for potty training a bird?
Sweet potatoes work as great treats my sun conure loves them
â€â€ I started
Wow that's real good thank you I'm thinking of getting a parrot for a first bird in a couple of months to for a company bird as quite lonely . If you have any suggestions on a colourful parrot that is less noisy (not that that matters) please reply.
It is late and Iâm doing some research birds because Iâm not that wise when it comes to my bird but I definitely will try this tomorrow with my bird
Heyyyy those are such cuties!!
thanks so much! đ
0:10 I have the same bird with a GCC and named the pineapple cheek well pineapple and the green cheek pickle :)
Helpful for my older girl who has flown plenty before and is used to using a stick for target training.
However I'm having an issue getting this to work for my younger girl who was deathly afraid of sticks for some reason. Since she would run from sticks, I was using my finger to get her to touch for target training, and now she is still trying to continue to touch my finger rather than jumping to it so I can teach her the fly to me on command, as well as build up the muscles. I know she can fly as she has done so any time she is scared while on top of her cage, like when I was trying target training with a stick. But she still doesn't have the muscle built up enough, and doesn't come to me on command, which is what I'm wanting to teach her to do.
I had a female conure named Lola for 9 years from age 9 to age 18 she was the sweetest and mix most moody little lady. I am learning so much from your channel and it is making me realize that doing basic research wasnât enough and that I needed to do more. Lola passed away from the Smokey air during the wildfires in Oregon last year but since then I did more research and also got employed so I could provide more for my pets and I ended up buying a little sun conure in March this year and I named him Frankie heâs a sweet spastic guy I love him to death! He is my best friend and I am learning so much from your videos about toys and foraging and training it is so helpful! My boy is still growing in his flight wings but I will be coming back to your channel for sure once he grows in his wings!! I just wanted to say Thankyou because even though I have more knowledge than when I had my previous bird there is always more to learn and Iâm just so thankful I came across your channel! I hope you and your birdies have a wonderful day or night and I thank you all for showing talent and demonstrating tricks and tips for us all!
I really love you đđ
I am going right now to do some solo practice on what you showed in this video. I am doing SOLO practice cause I don't have a parrot yet. :(
Your videos are the best, im getting a little collared dove tomorrow that i rescued, it lost one of its eyes unfortunately so that's why i decided to keep it. It's still very young and otherwise healthy and lively now that it got treatment. I'm a little nervous, ofc im not expecting it to behave like a more common pet bird, but I'm hoping it will at least eat from my hand one day! But I'm so scared of not taking care if it properly :(
I HOPE U GET YOUR 100K PLAYBUTTON AND 1M â€ïžâ€ïžâ€ïžâ€ïžđ
Yes, I'm going to start flight training mt GCC. What verbal command do you use?
I really needed to see this video so I'm glad I found your channel. My cockatiel was clipped when I bought him/her and I have been debating on weather to continue doing this or let him become a flyer. Here is my dilemma, I am so afraid he will hurt himself and land where he shouldn't as he has landed on the stove but it was not on. After watching this video I have learned that flying is something I need to work with him on but my other problem is that he is CLINGY and doesn't like standing on anything but me or my son...help! He flies reckless right now, I guess because he has to learn and learn the layout of our house?
We are enjoying training our new crimson bellied conure, with your help...thank you!...we have her on a healthy diet, no seeds in the cage...my question is, when we are training and using a mix of millet/sunflower/safflower how much is too much? I see you are using lots of seeds in this video...how much would you get through in a training session? Thanks
When you said you need a treat you bird really loves i instantly knew my birds favorite which just might by cheezits
my African grey loves goldfish
3:20 thanku for this information
I will use this. My conure can't fly on command, only when she is scared. She flies well but hopefully on command soon.
Thank you! Your instructions are really clear and easy to follow. At what age would be appropriate to start? My cockatiel is at about 5 weeks+ and is not fully weaned yet.... so he hasn't really recognised treats yet...
i suggest waiting until they are a fledgling or until they are fully weaned ^^
What treat best for conure? Appreciate your reply. Subscribed from me!
Hello! I was wondering if you are posting anything new? Because I find these videos so helpful and was sad when the last video you posted was 4 months ago. :(
hey i was wondering what the method is for teaching a parakeet to stay in perch im looking at videos online for training but cant see anything on stay commands its one thing to get the bird to perch can you ask a bird to stay in perch or would it be just keeping food in front of the bird to keep the bird there. first time bird owner, thanks
Your videos are amazing! Such an underrated channel :)
ahh thank you so so much, that makes me happy! đ„°
Big fan ..
I am from India
Grazie mille!â€ïž
provo con spiga di panico, la mia cocorita ne va matta đ
We don't have bird pellets in our country I feed then chop 3 times and they eat seeds the other days (I have 2 lovebirds ) is it healthy ?
Hi.. normally how long to train them fly back to you? I dont have parrot, but i wanted to buy 1.. it looks fun..
My parrotlet comes to me when he wants to.. but he still bites. I think he thinks that heâs the .wader of the flock- youâve got such a great bond with your birds! Have you got advice?
Very helpful! My coactiel can fly to me, but she don't want to fly back to her branch, maby that will come later...
On my way to train them
I have been wanting a birdie, but of course I am waiting a while. How much should a bird eat day?? + how many times a day
will this work with bigger parrots. i have a pionus. wolden he be too big to just do the little jumps
I have a question, my (i think) almlst 2 or 3 year old cockatiel whenever i show him treats to just step up he just comes at me and bits really hard and he just dosnt seem interested in the millet when i hold it, his everyday food is all seeds with sunflowers and all, hes really interested in plain cereal is it okay for me to use it as a treat
This is really helpful. My budgie flew out of his cage when I was trying to get him comfy on my hand but I have a dog so I had to put the dog away and I have a big house so she went everywhere and she wonât get on my hanf without a treat đ
My sun conure has just got her flight feathers back from first clipping...she has been flying back and forth from cage to me for a week now...into other rooms and around corners...I saved on treats...but I still worry if she ever zooms up a tree if I could call her down
Just wanted to say that I taught my Quaker to fly to me in 3 weeks using your video as a guideline- this video was so helpful and useful thank you so much!!!!
