I think XE is the competitor for 3 series / A4. XF is 5/E.
I have one of these and it drives superbly. The supercharged power is addictive, the steering precise and the handling is the best of any car I have owned (including four BMWs).
I know you said it's not a proper review, but to get a fair commentary on a Jaguar you really have to drive the beast. They are designed and engineered for a dynamic driving experience.

What the XF does so well is it at the same time a relaxing and comfortable grand tourer AND an engaging driver's car when you hit a curvy country road. There's not many cars with that balance.

I agree, I hate those dial in shifters so much. I like driving with my palm resting on a stick shifter.

The coolest feature about this vehicle are those AC vents. But imagine you’re in ME and way too hot Climate and the computers fail all of a sudden 🥴. It won’t happen most probably hopefully 😆

Got one it's beautiful it's light and quick maintenance better than a BMW and Mercedes certain ones I had a infini q70 the Jaguar a slightly better
Honestly it has been more fun and engaging to drive then any other loaner car I ever had. I did quite enjoy it

Larger than those cars, but the earlier models had up to 5L Supercharged engine option.

I love the looks of the XF but not that interior. They just introduced a faceliffted version with a much nicer interior (including an actual gearshift lever) plus the latest digital gauges and infotainment. This is actually 5 series sized and the smaller XE is their 3 series competitor. Unfortunately they only sell the 4 cylinder version now (abd they dropped the XE for the US atleast) :(. Like you said, most people are probably just going to get one of the Germans. If they’d dropped their supercharged v8 into this I’d seriously consider it
I am really loving the new interiors that JLR is coming out with as well. The shifter feels so much better
Have one much bigger than a 5 series,, more comfortable to drive than that and e class, owned and drove both
I added aftermarket red metal gear shifters that fitted right over the stock ones for like 30 bucks
You can get as many g’s in any car you just keep your foot down? Seriously what are you thinking? The XF is going to go round a corner way faster than a Range Rover!

5.1 seconds is more frequently quoted and I know a guy who got 4.9 seconds from a stock XF S Supercharged.
Mine feels plenty quick enough!

Thinking about change my 535 to this. My 535 is tuned to 460 heavily modified but i want to go to another brand to see. Saw one had 380hp. Same colour scheme. Im confuse thou. I see xfs with 340hp but then another one with 380hp. One is supercharge one is twin turbo. Can someone explain? Why both call s then
2016-2018 had the “35T” trim levels which had 340HP. 2016-2020 has the “S” trim which made 380HP. both models has the SAME torque (332 lb/ft). I live in USA so the numbers may be different from other parts of the world.

The S is (was) the top of the range sports model and comes with either the Supercharged V6 petrol 380 horsepower or the twin turbo V6 diesel 300 horsepower. Both great cars and pretty quick. The petrol is more lively but the diesel is more relaxed and more economic on fuel.
2012-2015 has the best exterior looks. The 2016+ has the better interior...
I’m really not a fan of the jag logo on the grill against that square clear plastic piece. And the silver coated rims better

Im not saying you need 500hp. I’m saying the German makes these cars so much better then the British for this price range

@@DrivenHard No chance. I owned 5 series before I bought the XF would never go back to the BMW. Each to his own but no comparison in my opinion.
@severnsea I’ve never actually owned either. Just had them for days on end. Ownership definitely could be a different thing. Glad you are enjoying yours though!

People want different things from a car too, no doubt most people prefer BMW but I think the Jaguar models are a lot better than most give them credit for and on their own merits easily compete with anything else in their class. I would say the XE is more comparable to the 3 series.

Agree, I don't know why they decided to make the tail Audi. Otherwise it's styled with it's own personality. The previous XF (X250) was a Jaguar from all angles
