@@chrisjone7555 There is a great article on harpers bazaar detailing the complicated relationships among them, the sisters and Ari handled it like a business dealing with pros and cons all things considered, and it was indeed a "business" relationship too besides love and marriage.

I had no idea Lee was so insightful. Truman savaged her sister Jackie in the short story and lionized Lee, who was referring to her sister and Onassis, whom she regretted introducing. Onassis also had the great Maria Callas, opera diva, "La Divina", as a mistress but chose the former First Lady over an opera legend - more fool he. It seems fate cut them all down to size. Onassis' life too was a Greek Tragedy.

Now to preface this by saying I don't know a ton about the history of Capote and his swans, but the clips and bits of this I've seen make me wonder how in the world they could have felt "betrayed" by him? They, by their own admission did and said terrible things to one another, and excluded those they thought beneath them. Truman, by *his* own admission never "let the truth get in the way of a good story", and yet they somehow were surprised when all that came back to bite them!? I suppose all the money in the world can't buy good sense.
