i remember when i went to vienna i think as a kid, to a music museum where there was a conductor game with a big screen with an orchestra on it which played according to how you moved the baton; and if you moved it too fast the orchestra would stop and complain, and vice versa if you were too slow and when you moved it weirdly they would get jumbled up and yell at you. I believe it was called the house of music
haha, I've been there several years ago it was still there! The game was a pretty fun addition to the experience of exploring the house of music ;)
I was there just this fall! It was fun, but I'm bad with rhythm, so I ended up casting an unforgivable curse at the orchestra and leaving to watch other people play it xD
Haus der Musik! My favorite museum. I suck at the conducting game tho, they always cut me off really fast whenever I try 😂 I much prefer the new games and features that were there last year. The conductor game has been at the museum forever, but the clong universe (my absolute favorite feature) was new. As well as the dice waltz game and the "your name in Mozart's music" feature afaik. I love that they made music so interactive.
@@flowerdolphin5648 I kinda feel like they cut you off randomly though, because we had a guy in our group who is a professional conductor and he was cut off way before I was the first time, even though he knew what to do and I was just waving the baton around like a wand.
@@Roozyj That doesn't surprise me. I believe conductors do way more than the game is capable of recognizing. The conductor you saw probably did all his usual cues, those movements differ slightly from conductor to conductor. And probably had his own style too (conductors don't conduct in rigid textbook style like you learn it in music class at school). I highly doubt the technology of the game is capable of recognizing all these nuances lol.
Playing games must be their secret practice technique.

Fun fact: the concert hall is a real place! It's called Teatro Colón and it's in Buenos Aires, Argentina. I've been at a concert there. It was built in a way so that there's no need for microphones.

omg i did something like this in vienna, it was a cool music museum and there was a motion capture chip in the end of a baton and it slowed down or sped up a recording of the vienna philharmonic :))

Haha well thinking about it, you could teach much larger classes like this. Plus if it were uploaded then people could rewind or watch at their own pace. Stuff like this could really help get more people to understand music.
