I grew up in Medford, Oregon.. then moved to Portland 30+ years ago. There is something about Northern California that is hard to put into words. It feels warm, the surrounding areas of Redding are stunning. There's so much hiking, biking and water to enjoy! There are downsides to any city yes, but I've spent time in Redding and really loved it. And coming from Portland... believe me, Redding looks as clean and welcoming as just about any west coast city I can think of. The weather is amazing too!!
Why does the gov give dope fiends needles to enable and make the pushers richer; are they sleeping together?why not to enable those who would help themself if given a chance? Ask if your leaders are sadistic poverty pimps and keeping everybody down just to enrich themselves? why are there only cameras at the intersections to shake down drivers, but no cameras at parks public bathrooms to discourage vandalism? Your taxes are being used to operate a city with no public bathrooms, which shows just how much your leaders care about you.

Its a great place to come visit and enjoy the lakes and mountains or other outdoor activities, but then just go back home. Not because we don't want you here its because you don't want to see what the real Redding has become. The homeless have over taken 1 of our parks to the point that its been fenced off now and no one can use it. Homeless camps are everywhere, even in the green belts behind our homes. In the last week there has been 2 fires behind my house because of them. Every night there are stabbings, shootings and other violent crimes committed involving the homeless and drug users. You can't even have your Amazon packages delivered to your home without having them stolen. And just last week at 7am my friend found some bum sneaking around his workshop on his 5 acre homestead. When he confronted the guy and asked WTH he was doing their, the guy said looking for gas, so FUCK OFF!!!! This is the garbage we have to put up with in this town so when people say they happy for leaving now you know why. So come and enjoy what Redding has but then go home to your safe quite neighborhoods.

Most all of the negative feedback seems to point back to the homeless population and/or problems arising from a religious group that has apparently gained heavy influence there(?) Bummer. Its so disappointing, I had gotten excited about the idea of moving to Redding until stumbling onto comments like yours. More good in Redding than bad. Compared to Portland or Seattle, Redding is heaven. I am a recent transplant. Been here 7 years now. My family has all been successful here. Schools are good. No race problems because majority of people are white. My kids have future because of the city. Old people retire here because of climate. Recently city is taking extra effort to clean up city. Like places under Cypress bridge. Most homeless hang out at library. I am not ignorant to the problems. But problems are not as bad as other cities
You can't be talking about Redding. Only traffic is on Cypress. Too many lights. But maybe a little down town ? Compared to other cities none. Try driving around Medford ar 5:00.
Redding has the Sacramento river, but no water monuments fountains or park toilets, very sad government infrastructure./ have you ever seen Portland's water parks?

I use to live in Redding, up near Keswick. Had to move because my house burned down in 2018 in the Carr Fire. My I sure miss it. Redding is beautiful. Unfortunately I had to move out of state after the fire because I couldn't afford a new place there, thanks to a religious cult that is trying to take over the town by buying up many places and raising the rent and property costs. I couldn't afford a new home thanks to those freaks. Maybe I'll move back someday when I win the lottery. I love the beauty of the area.

Acres of land? No smog? This video fails to say you could find acres of land outside of Redding and is getting over run by a cult of Bethelites that come from all over the world to live here! I avoid being in town the traffic is so bad now. And be prepared to have your house burned down by a house possibly twice a year unless you live by something the city deems important like the center of town. The being without a home, drug use, and rapest are thriving here with poor mental health services, Bethelites from all over the world moving here for bethel to buy up the town for, and suddenly high rents in the last decade
