Welcome to a snippet of video footage I shot while having a chance to take a vacation that was over a year in planning. My trip to Dubai and Abu Dhabi was happenstance based on a lucky airfare situation, however I had been amazed by the architecture of the region for years. In September 2015, I finally was able to make it happen. We visited Abu Dhabi from September 17th to September 28th, 2015.
Footage was filmed over thirteen days utilizing my Canon 7D Mark II, 5D Mark II, and assorted lenses, but today I am just showcasing the trip up the scenic glass elevators featured at the rear core of the Burj Al Arab Hotel off the coast of Dubai. These two scenic elevators serve Levels 2 and 27 (structurally the 4th and 54th).
These elevators are Mitsubishi and are comfortably in the high speed fast category and travel about 8m/sec or 1,600fpm.

Wow! What a view
Indeed! Really gorgeous! If you visit now of course, you'll notice their new promenade completed. You can see it with the tower crane being built at the time right as the elevator starts going up.

I've noticed! Rode lots of Mitsubishi elevators / lifts while in Dubai and they were always so smooth, fast, and charming.
