@@databug i speak french, my native language is french-based, and also spoke with some actual French people in both English(when they didn't know i could speak french) and French. the accent is absolutely NOT put on. some people just don't care enough to imitate the "native accent" and it's fine that way. i can understand where you are coming from tho coz people in my country make fun of this accent a lot (too much).

@@bocchitherock-ob2bl in the 80s there used to be a program on UK TV called Eurotrash. It was hosted by Antoin de Caunes. He had a super thick french accent similar to A1rm4x. I always though he was just pretending but no he was indeed french. So whenever I hear this kind of strong accent it always reminds me of that show. BTW I was born in Germany but have lived in the UK most of my life. I no longer have an accent. Not that there is anything wrong with accents. It makes for an interesting and colourful world.

Your effort in learning and speaking another language fluently is really commendable. I couldn't care less about your accent as long as you're clear, which you are.
Moi j'apprends le français, et je sais très clairement que ça prend un énorme effort. Ta langue est difficile et je respecte tout le monde qui essaie d'apprendre une autre langue.

Great that you covered Bazzite. My main distribution now on my Legion 7 AMD CPU RTX 4060 laptop. Best wayland, Plasma 6 and Nvidia 550 drivers (baked into the ISO) experience so far. Unlike Cachy with same kernel and drivers... Very stable and secure. Use flatpaks or containers only for most stable use. Documentation is very good too. Updates are a bit slow but done in the background when the PC is iddle. They are only applied when rebooting, very safe!

Thank you for introducing us to Bazzite, I'm definitely going to try it out. As I got into Linux gaming last autumn with Nobara 38 it took me some time but I learned a lot. With Nobara 39 I got into a lot of issues which most of them I could fix but my Xone wireless controller still doesn't work without cable besides the firmware compiled okay. Nobara 39 drives me crazy... 🤯🤪

From the clip shown in the video, it seems like you looked at the ujust recipe and just ran the recipe name in the terminal (and the one you selected just happened to have an identical command). The ujust command is meant to be used in the form of `ujust distrobox-assemble`, it uses the actual `distrobox-assemble` command in the background, but reads and parses a manifest file to create a nice menu where you can select the contianer you want to make (as the actual distrobox-assemble command from distrobox, will create all the containers from the file by default).
so all those commands in the `ujust` list is literally recipes that you can tell ujust to run, the arguments shown like `ACTION="prompt"` are the default arguments for the recipe, these you can change by just passing new arguments in the same location, for example `ujust distrobox-assemble fedora` will create/recreate the fedora container from the distrobox ini manifest instead of prompting you what container you want to make, hence the default action being "prompt".
also when it comes to things like nvidia drivers, they are available as soon as they are available as stable on rpmfusion
    Glad you enjoyed bazzite though!

Personally, I am tired of getting a Distro and spending a weekend just to get everything working on a new Linux desktop. I blindly installed Bazzite on a new gaming rig just knowing its target audience: gamers. I was playing Elden Ring in 30 mins after launching the installer.
Another thing is sometimes I just break the system and I am no longer able to game on other distros when I tried to customize it. I dont have the time anymore like 20 years ago and with Bazzite you just rollback and you are back to a previous working state.
If you want to learn Linux or customize it, this isn't for you. You can opt in for others like LFS or Gentoo which are amazing at that. I had a great time with them
Thanks for the review. You did a great job.

I ran the KDE edition as a daily driver, it's quite good for a new user, once in the desktop. The installer wasn't difficult, but a bit different than what I used for Mint, PikaOS, EndeavourOS, etc.
The only issue with Bazzite was trying to get my second SSD useable by Steam. I got as far as having the SSD automount and no longer require a password (it's just for older games).
Steam would see the drive, but wouldn't add it for Storage.

I think an immutable , containerized os are the future for masses who just want to play and not deal with the messy bits of os management. If you've come from windows you will use to long updates and not accessing the bowels of the os.

    • @floof_ch
      @floof_ch Před měsícem

Not even just for the masses. I know my way around linux, it's just that for regular desktop use I use my system completely differently compared to server use.
I prefer mutability when I have a specific purpose for a system, but if this purpose shifts and software gradually gets installed and removed, it can get messy to maintain.

I tried Bazzite 3.0 and have since deleted it. I tried three games. Valheim, Fallout 4 and CTA: Gates of Hell. all run on Nobara.
Valheim is the only one that would start, but wouldn't save. Manually or Auto-save. I tried both Gnome and KDE all with Nvidia driver, wayland and x11, none modded.
Needless to say, not as easy to use as advertised. It simply didn't work for me. Maybe, someone else will have better luck.
I did try it on a non-gaming Desktop and I'm hoping it is unbreakable. For printing, web browsing, email and general day to day activities. So far so good.

I don't see what you're talking about. He's very easy to understand as long as you're giving him your attention. If you're reading something or looking elsewhere while he's speaking then maybe the words could blend together but I've had a really easy time understanding his points, although most of them seem to hinge on the distro being immutable and thus less easily tweakable, although the immutability is also a large part of his pros. It's a double edged sword and that's the majority of what he was attempting to relay
